Let's start with the bad review from last week: I had a scheduled appointment last Wednesday, March 1st, for a recall on my 2014 Sonata and also wanted them to check the headlights - for the past several m scheduled appointment last Wednesday, March 1st, for a recall on my 2014 Sonata and also wanted them to check the headlights - for the past several months, they have gone off sporadically. I specifically dropped my car off the afternoon before the appointment so service could get started first thing in the morning. By 4:15 in the afternoon, no one had called me - so I called the dealership and spoke with a young man named Steve. (I should note that Steve told me "he was just helping out" and "this wasn't his department." When he told me my car hadn't been worked on and I asked why, his reply was,that there were 2 other drop offs ahead of mine and they didn't get to it. When I asked Steve if the car would be done by noon on March 2nd (I needed it to pickup my young granddaughters and that car has the car seats), he said he couldn't guarantee it. I told him I'd be there in 20 minutes and would be taking my car elsewhere. When I got to the dealership and walked in, (and I'm sure my expression showed that I was NOT a happy camper), Steve stood up with my paperwork and keys. I asked him to explain again why the reasoning was that there were 2 dropoffs ahead of me - when I had a scheduled appointment. At that point, he put up his palms and said "I'm just the messenger. I can see that you're upset, but the work didn't get done." I took my keys and left. I found Steve to be unprofessional and very condescending to me. Now for the good review: About a half hour after I got home, I had a call from Dan Geist - the recently hired Service Manager. He had overheard the exchange between Steve and me and wanted to hear my "side" of the story. He said that he was new to his position, but this was all on him. He asked what he could do to make it better and make me happy. He said if we could set up another appointment, he would personally look at my car, write up the work order, and he would keep in touch with me frequently as to the progress of the work....which he did! I told him that his personal phone call to me is what made me decide to give the dealership another chance. True to his word, he kept in touch; he explained that they would need to order a part for the headlights. I told him we had purchased a 10-year extended warranty when the car was purchased in 2014. He found the paperwork in the glove box, contacted Zurich (the warranty covered everything!), called me when the part was delayed a day and called when the car was ready to be picked up this afternoon. Dan Geist went above and beyond in my opinion. He is a gem and a gentleman and he was extremely pleasant and professional. As I said, his personal phone call to me made all the difference. More

The dealership is not run very efficiently. We couldn’t bring the car home when we decided to buy after making an appointment to see it, When we came back for another appointment.
