DO NOT LEASE FROM THEM I leased my sonata from Bay Ridge in 2016. My lease was up yesterday and earlier in the week, i had called Bay Ridge to make an appointment to turn in I leased my sonata from Bay Ridge in 2016. My lease was up yesterday and earlier in the week, i had called Bay Ridge to make an appointment to turn in the vehicle. I was emailed a confirmation that my appointment had been set. When i showed up the the dealership, the finance manager with a disgusting attitude (Tall white bald guy with a brown beard) came up to my father and I and stated that despite making an appointment, he will not honor the lease return. I told him that Hyundai Motor Finance told me that because i leased my vehicle from them, they were CONTRACTUALLY OBLIGATED to accept my lease back. He scoffed and said then bring the cops, bring your lawyers and try to force me to take your car. I took the day off work for this and showed up in casual clothing, he then proceeded to ridicule me for how i was dressed and then he pretended to call the cops and said that i was threatening him. HE is not only an example of a terrible finance manager but also a terrible human being who really should not be employed in the customer service industry. I will also be sending this to HMF as well as the Better Business Bureau More

Worst experience EVER My husband has deleted his review at your request- however, I am not as nice as him. If you are looking for your worst nightmare in a dealership t My husband has deleted his review at your request- however, I am not as nice as him. If you are looking for your worst nightmare in a dealership then this is the place for you. They claim there’s a manager there named Brian but I’m pretty he doesn’t exist since I’ve never be able to get him on the phone or get a call back. This has been our worst experience ever when buying a used car. Purchased a used 2016 maxima on Sunday 9/1, 5 minutes after driving off the lot a light came on. After googling it we figure out it’s the emergency brake sensor and when the light comes on it means the system is unavailable, what it also says a faulty sensor can cause the car to stop while driving for no reason-GREAT. So now I refuse to put my kids in this car. My husband now reaches out to her salesman who pretends that he is going to help with the matter. After 3 days of getting no where he tells him to bring the car to Nissan to see what’s wrong with it and they will fix it. 150$ later to have the diagnostics ran they tell us it’s the sensor and it’s 1500$..so the salesman says to bring the car back and they’ll fix it.. oh and also promises the 150$ back that we paid to Nissan. So that following Monday my husband brings the car in.. 5 DAYS LATER we get the car back saying it was fixed but wouldn’t provide a receipt.. and after 5 minutes of driving the light came back on so I called there and a woman gave me the info for where the car was serviced (they don’t have a service center) only to find out this “service center” has no record of ever having the car.. so basically the car was probably parked on 4th ave for 5 days while they pretended to do something. It’s ALL A SCAM. I have now been calling for days with no answer. They won’t even take calls from the dealership my car is being serviced at. 3 weeks of having this car and it’s been back and forth in service for 2 weeks and they won’t even take calls from their own warranty company that needs documents to give the approval to fix the car.The girls there are trained to lie and say they aren’t there then 2 min later say they are in a meeting. Taking this matter to the better business and Mr. Ignazio Giuffre, cooperate, 7 on my side and anyone else who wants to hear about this awful experience. No clue how this place is still open but I promise to do everything in my power to make sure everyone knows about the TERRIBLE service here. More
Beware, Must read, Don’t get scammed, I’m usually not the type to write a review and definitely not a negative one but this one is necessary and a MUST-READ. On August 15 my wife and I I’m usually not the type to write a review and definitely not a negative one but this one is necessary and a MUST-READ. On August 15 my wife and I decided upon an SUV from Bay Ridge Hyundai as we we’re offered a great deal within our budget. After agreeing on a price and did all the paperwork l, Bay Ridge Hyundai told to us that the car was being driven in from Staten Island and that we would have to wait until it had arrived on premises. -In the meantime they told me to get the insurance on the new vehicle and call my wife with the existing vehicle we currently own so we can swap the plates;my wife made the 20 minute trip to the dealership with my 3 kids in the car. My family and I patiently waited for our new car to arrive to the dealership.A while later and we still hadn’t received our car nor any information regarding it when asked about the car they told that it’s one the way and there might be traffic. My family started getting pretty annoyed as you can imagine a family of 5 all waiting for our car we were promised and it was already 9 pm- 5 hours later! The salesman told me that due to late time maybe it’s better we come back in the morning. The next morning I drove in alone as I didn’t want to bring my family before I make the car is there. After arriving at the dealership I was greeted with some frustrating news: the car has mistakenly been SOLD! I had asked them if they had another SUV and to my dismay their answer was NO and I left. 3 weeks later at 8 pm the Bay ridge Hyundai called me again asking of me if I am still interested in the deal they had offered me a while back. Of course I was glad they called and said definitely! Following a conversation of verifying all the nitty gritty details making sure everything in this deal would be the same as the previous deal I was ready to close the deal again. The salesman explained that I would not be able to close this deal and it isn’t guaranteed unless I pick up the car that evening. I obviously didn’t want to lose this deal again and explained to my wife that although it is late I have to drive to the dealership and pick up the car. As I was about to leave my house, the salesman asked to put me on a brief hold to ask his manager a question, already one foot out the door the salesman told me that I can come in to the dealership the next morning if I agreed they charge the deposit on my credit card; I agreed. The next morning I came in the SUV was there. We went through the whole deal again they presented the deal sheet and had me sign it. Based on the sheet I agreed for them to ran my credit, and transferred my insurance, inspected the car. 4 hours later,,, as I was waiting to drive the car off the lot I was told that the finance manager would need to see me again. Entering his office he went over the deal with me and SHOCKINGLY presented a new deal sheet with different figures than the one we had agreed and that I signed. Please note, I had been at the dealership with my family for 5 hours the time before. I cannot express enough how frustrated how upset and aggravated my family and I were. I feel completely scammed. They intentionally make you wait for hours upon hours. They ran a involuntarily credit check of a fake deal sheet. They had wasted so much of my time. They had promised me a deal then tried to switch it thinking I would agree because everything was already done and I invested so much time. They are unethical in their business. This review strongly encourages other people who are honest individuals just like I am to not involve themselves with Bay Ridge Hyundai ever as they have caused me tremendous aggravation, frustration, and wasted my time. I look forward to never do business with Hyundai again. More
Shameful My lease was expiring and although I leased the car from this dealership they would not take my car back because I was not leasing a new one. The man My lease was expiring and although I leased the car from this dealership they would not take my car back because I was not leasing a new one. The manager would not even get on the phone to speak to me. Shameful, disrespectful and doesn't deserve loyalty from anyone. Not even Plaza would take the car back. I went to Island Hyundai and the service was exceptional. If you can't do business properly then leave the borough or complain to the mayor that you don't have enough parking space for cars in your lot. Cowards!! More

Weren't able to make a deal but got called back in the next day with a promise of a more competitive offer. Their price was $20 higher than previously offered...by them. Interesting sales tactic. Also were given attitude when we tried to finally speak to the 'manager' who we had the appointment with both times but never got to meet. Edit: Since writing this review I got a little worried I wasn't providing enough accountability so the manager at the core of 1/5 stars is Ahmad. More
Bullying Tactics used for a lease return I am a former customer of Hyundai for 6 years up until yesterday. I leased two different cars in the past from Hyundai; a 2012 Tucson and then a 2017 I am a former customer of Hyundai for 6 years up until yesterday. I leased two different cars in the past from Hyundai; a 2012 Tucson and then a 2017 Santa Fe Sport because I liked the cars so much. I wanted to return the leased Santa Fe Sport and made inquires starting on Friday, June 7, 2019. I called the Hyundai Finance department to inquire as to what the steps were to return a lease. I was told 1) you have to make an appointment at ANY Hyundai dealership and then 2) obtain a return receipt with the person's name that assessed the return. I made several calls on Saturday, June 8, 2019 to different Brooklyn and NY dealerships to make an appointment to return the car. I called the Astoria Location, Nostrand Avenue, Bay Ridge location and every time I stated that I was not repurchasing or leasing, I was hung up upon. Eventually I got two appointments; one from Nostrand avenue for 6/27 and one for Bay Ridge for 6/11/19 for 4pm. At the time I told the receptionist (Nico) that I will not be repurchasing. Bay Ridge Hyundai called me on June 11th to confirm. At that time, the receptionist (Rocco) asked again whether I was trading in and I told him no. Upon arrival at Bay Ridge Hyundai, I parked my car in the area dedicated for valet. I first spoke to a salesman, Joseph. He informed me that unfortunately the dealership would not be able to take my leased car for return. I inquired as to why and he said "If you were taking a car off our lot, then it would make sense but since you're not we don't have the space." I repeated what the financing department told me on Friday ( 1) you have to make an appointment at ANY Hyundai dealership and then 2) obtain a return receipt with the person's name that assessed the return). I asked to speak with a manager. A gentleman, Ahmad Hamdan introduced himself as the manager and proceeded to tell me the same thing. I reminded him what Hyundai financing told me and he said "Why don't you take the car back to where you leased it?" I reminded him that it is HYUNDAI's policy to go wherever you want and I chose his dealership and i previously made an appointment and told his people in advance that I was not repurchasing. Ahmad became irate when I told him I would call Hyundai motor finance to speak with them. He accused me of being rude and disrespectful and said "Now, I don't care who you speak to, I'm not taking your car." I responded "Have I cursed at you? Have I raised my voice or turned over a table? I haven't done any of those things so to accuse me of being rude is ridiculous." I immediately took out my phone and pressed record. I informed him that I would videotape the conversation and asked him to repeat himself and he walked away. I began to call Hyundai Motor Finance and then a man who introduced himself as another manager called Sam; came over and said he would do the entire transaction to smooth everything over. There were no additional incidents after this time. Then Ahmad came back to apologize and give an explanation. I'm not interested in his explanation; it was disgusting. I am still in shock of the way Bay Ridge Hyundai conducted themselves. I was a loyal Hyundai customer for 6 years. I decided I no longer want a Hyundai or a lease. I have that right as a customer. I do not owe Hyundai or anyone who works for Hyundai any explanations nor do I have to put my money in a company that disrespects customers. I am disgusted and disappointed. Their behavior was deplorable. I felt bullied and targeted. I felt attacked and singled out. This experience has definitely shown me that Hyundai seems to support these bullying tactics to sell cars. These tactics really soured me on the whole Hyundai experience and due to that fact, I will not be repurchasing a Hyundai EVER. More
Don't even bother Given what I know about the auto industry and some of the other horror stories that you've probably read already, I wanted to confirm some things befo Given what I know about the auto industry and some of the other horror stories that you've probably read already, I wanted to confirm some things before I headed down. So, I called *four* different times asking for them to send me an email stating that they actually had the cars they listed on the lot (as opposed to sold or sitting in some warehouse elsewhere), and listing what nonsense fees they were going to try and surprise me with if I thought any of the options were worth buying. Each time, they told me they would send me the email, and, of course, they never did - because they knew if they disclosed their absurd 'dealer prep' fees and whatever else they wanted to pretend is legit, there is no way in xxxx I'd actually show up. In this regard, this dealership is pretty typical - you generally are dealing with con artists who would likely sell their children if it meant a larger end of the month bonus when you step into nearly any place peddling automobiles. Just make sure to do your homework before you set foot anywhere, and make sure to Read. Everything. Very. Carefully. And do not, under any circumstances, buy from one of those tiny, unaffiliated lots. They mostly end up with the garbage the branded dealerships don't think they can sell/trick you into buying. More
