I had a WONDERFUL experience buying my yellow Pontiac Solstice convertible from Hyman Brothers last month, and I would definitely recommend Hyman Bros, (and more specifically, my salesman Jerry Cunningha Solstice convertible from Hyman Brothers last month, and I would definitely recommend Hyman Bros, (and more specifically, my salesman Jerry Cunningham), to anyone who is planning on buying a used car! After months of searching for the perfect car, I finally found it on the Hyman Brothers website through an AutoTrader listing. While on their website, I submitted an inquiry about test driving the car, and I received a lighting quick response from Jerry within 30 minutes. He also went out of his way to bring the car from Midlothian to the West Broad location in order to accomodate my schedule so I could test drive the car during my lunch break. He was incredibly friendly, honest, personable, and knowledgable about the car that I was interested in. I was initially pretty nervous about the car buying experience, but Jerry answered any questions I had and made my experience a pleasant one. After I purchased the car, he made sure to show me how to take the top down/put it back up, and ensured that I knew how everything worked before I drove it off the lot. My family and I visited the dealership late afternoon Saturday, April 27. We made the hundred mile drive to specifically check out a vehicle we saw on the internet. Upon arriving on the lot, we were immediately greeted by Claude Parrish. He was very cordial and helpful. Were this rating based solely on my experience with him, it would have been all 5's, excluding the price rating. Claude went the extra mile to accommodate our family of six while we were at the dealership. Since we visited so late on a Saturday, obtaining a favorable response from a bank was a slower than normal process. We were about to leave when Bill Thomas, the financial service manager stopped us, because he had an approval from a bank. Bill was friendly and cordial as well, however he couldn't mask his unhappiness over being made late for his evening plans. By the time the approval came in, it was about 6 pm, which was also the dealership's closing time. It took an extra 45 minutes to go over and sign all of the paperwork and finalize the deal, He made mention of being late for his plans several times. He mentioned it so much that I felt the need to apologize, and I did just that. His response to my apology was a bit rude, and I wish to leave it at that. Otherwise, he was very professional, and you could tell he'd been through this process hundreds, if not thousands of times before. I appreciate Bill (and Claude) staying late to see the deal done, but as a customer, I do resent being made to feel repeatedly as if I've inconvenienced him. We could have easily made the deal on the following Monday, as it wasn't a pressing issue to me or my family to purchase the car right away. My reason for rating the price as just "ok" was that the price was about 1600 above book value. It was indeed "ok" however, as we had decided that this was the car we were looking for, paying a bit more than book value was acceptable to us. I'd also like to mention Joe Taylor, who was very kind to us as we waited for approval. So to summarize, our salesperson, Claude Parrish, was excellent. I will definitely do business with him again if given the opportunity. My experience with Bill Thomas was tarnished only by his unhappiness at being kept late, but was otherwise favorable. I would definitely recommend Hyman Bros. to my friends, family and neighbors. More
