I normally love doing business here, and prefer to bring my truck here since this is where I also purchased it. While I know accidents happen, I do not like how things were brushed off and I was treated lik my truck here since this is where I also purchased it. While I know accidents happen, I do not like how things were brushed off and I was treated like I was overreacting. I brought my 2015 F-150 in to fix a recall last month, a recall that if not fixed could cause me to lose my brakes, essentially. I drove my truck for 30 days and what I would later find out, one of my brake lines had not been reattached properly. My truck started telling me brake fluid was low on my way to work, I check and it’s below the minimum line. I call Hutcheson and Tyler tells me just to put more brake fluid in it, even though I reminded him it had just been in for the recall 30 days prior. Something wasn’t right. He assured me a “master tech” had done the work. After work I go and get my brake fluid, drive around for about 45 minutes running errands, and I get to a stoplight. While waiting at the stop light I continued to move forward, thankfully I was the first at the light and didn’t rear-end someone, even with my brake pedal mashed to the floor and me literally standing on it up out of my seat hoping I don’t roll out into traffic doing at least 50 mph if they’re following the speed limit. the light changed and I got to the nearest parking lot and parked it as it told me brake fluid low again. I called hutcheson again and told Tyler what was going on and that I needed it fixed, no way was I going to continue to drive it. He asked if I put more brake fluid in it and I said yes, and now all of it that I added is now in a puddle on the parking lot. He told me to bring it down the next day and I said I couldn’t drive it again, and told him I’d have it towed if I could find someone. No offer to come get it from him — I was on my own. I found someone and they came and picked it up the next morning, still leaking brake fluid as it was pulled up on the tow truck. A day goes by and Gordy calls to tell me they have it fixed, a brake line wasn’t reattached correctly. They’ve tested it several times and it should be fine now. It wasn’t low on brake fluid either according to Gordy — the sensor is just extra sensitive. He was nice enough to offer to bring it back to me because I had to get a rental car that I couldn’t return down there and no other means to get to hutcheson, which I do appreciate, but yet again I was treated as if I overreacted to the whole thing because according to him “I never lost my brakes”. I’m pretty sure when I’ve got my brake pedal mashed all the way to the floor and I’m still moving forward, I don’t have brakes. That’s not normal. The negligence of the “master tech” who worked on my truck is beyond me — shouldn’t they be the ones to know how to attach a brake line correctly? That’s my life or someone’s else’s in your hands when you can’t fix something like brakes back to 100%. I had no issues before the recall and the exact thing the recall fix was supposed to prevent happened but because a tech didn’t do their job and check their work. I want to continue to give this business my business but how I’m treated when I bring my truck in, as if I don’t know any better and I’m stupid, is making it incredibly difficult. Im not going to waste my own time unless something is actually wrong — I live 2 hours away. And this time something was majorly wrong, that could’ve been prevented had the job been done correctly the first time. My dad also does business here and has never had the issues I have with this service department — probably because he’s a middle age man but regardless I should be treated the same. My money is just as good as his. More
