UNETHICAL! BAIT AND SWITCH! AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. We were buying cars for our 16 year old twins, and had a set budget. This dealership had BAIT AND SWITCH! AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. We were buying cars for our 16 year old twins, and had a set budget. This dealership had a 2018 car listed for a price that would have put the car just over our budget with tax and license added on. We test drove it, and made an out-the-door (OTD) offer for $500 under what the OTD price WOULD have been with tax and license for the list price they advertised. Instead, the dealership came back with an out-the door price that was $5,000 OVER what it would be for their list price. $5,000!! When we balked, we were literally told that they use "low" list prices to get people in the door, and that they have to use the add-ons once people are there to get the price BACK UP to "market value." When we refused, they said they would meet our out-the-door price (which again, was essentially their list price + tax and license -$500) ONLY if we would buy a $3,000 warranty. Their final offer was to sell it for $2,000 more than the price THEY ADVERTISED. When I said I disliked the bait and switch tactic, they responded with (I kid you not) "I told you. This is just how the market is. All dealerships do this. You're frustrated now, but do you really want to go through all of this again with another dealer later." We left. There are, in fact, MANY dealerships who do not do this, and do honor their advertised list price. We ended up buying not one but TWO used cars from TWO different such dealerships. READ THE DEALERSHIP REVIEWS BEFORE PUTTING A CAR ON YOUR LIST, NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE CAR OR PRICE LOOKS. This is the one dealership where I forgot to do that step, and am kicking myself for the hours and frustration wasted on this place. (They texted me three days later and asked, "Have you had time to think about the deal we offered you?" Ironically, that text is what reminded me to leave this review.) More
samir sell manager and erick one of the sales guys were nice until i tried to be clear on the numbers so honestly If in any way you feel that the actions of this dealer arise for you as a consumer, they c nice until i tried to be clear on the numbers so honestly If in any way you feel that the actions of this dealer arise for you as a consumer, they can follow a record in these 3 institutions. The truth is that my experience is very negative. https://www.bbb.org/ https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/customer-service/dmv-complaints-ffinv-1/ https://www.ftc.gov/ I would have liked to have read the reviews before going to this dealer. It really surprises me a lot the practices of this place to put a lower price than what they actually sell the vehicle just to attract you to buy and then literally force you to buy their packages because it is a very bad practice on their part Fortunately, there are actions that can be taken so that these types of places are put under review. If you feel that something went wrong with your negotiation and you do not know who to turn to to obtain true information, advise yourself with https://www.bbb.org/ https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/customer-service/dmv-complaints-ffinv-1/ https://www.ftc.gov/ These unethical actions on the part of the company should be reported and reviewed as many incidents do not happen without reason I hope the pages can help you and the comment warns you of what awaits you More
Huntington Beach Hyundai will bait and switch. They will advertise at one price and then when you come and talk to them, they'll upcharge you 5 figures in "accessories" that they don't disclose an They will advertise at one price and then when you come and talk to them, they'll upcharge you 5 figures in "accessories" that they don't disclose and are not optional. That's the literal definition of bait and switching people. When pressed they won't even reveal what these "accessories" include. We went in to check out their 2022 Kona N line that they've had on their lot since December 2022. They have been advertising this car for about $24k. When we show up, the car is in the back of the lot, with a dead battery, and the paint chipped in the front. None of these are big deals on their own but when we sit down to discuss price. They hand us a sheet that says the car will now cost $30,000+ Basically the price for a brand new one. There's a line item.for "$8k" in accessories that when pressed the sales person went "what do you want me to list them all off?", And then would refuse to list them. The only accessory they outright stated was 'paint protection" but the car was ALREADY SIGNIFICANTLY CHIPPPED! it had a huge chip in the paint on the front bumper that was bigger than a quarter. What does this "paint protection" even do then??? When asked about the $26k price they advertise online, they state that's the "wholesale price" and "they can't sell the car for that price". I've never heard "wholesale price" used in reference to a used car. They do not list these non-optional accessories online and the $23k price is the one they advertise. No wonder it's been there for months. Don't shop at this dealership. Avoid at all costs. More
Dishonest dealership be aware. I purchased a used 2021 Subaru WRX STI at hyundai of Huntington beach on 9/23/22. I paid 57k for this car. I took it for a post purchase inspection I purchased a used 2021 Subaru WRX STI at hyundai of Huntington beach on 9/23/22. I paid 57k for this car. I took it for a post purchase inspection and was told the car was sold to me in an illegal condition as it was sold to me without catalytic converters, an illegal intake and exhaust. I reached out to the dealership for resolution to this and corresponded with Shant Megerian who stated that since it was less than 4 years old it didn’t have to be smogged and they were completely without fault. It is illegal for a dealership to transfer ownership of a car in this condition. I have given them the opportunity to make this right and have gotten nothing but a xx runaround. I am in the process of litigating this in small claims court and filing a complaint with the DMV. Do not ever buy from this shady place Edit: I forgot to mention, as others have the sneaky add ons to the sale. Items like unwanted and never disclosed digital plate, gos tracking, etc. added 10k+ to final price. These are the stereotypical “used car salesman” to be avoided at all costs. More
I was looking to buy a 2018 Porsche Panamera for just shy of 70,000.00. I simply sent in an inquiry explaining that I live 6 hours north up the California coast so I cant just pop in and asked the condition of 70,000.00. I simply sent in an inquiry explaining that I live 6 hours north up the California coast so I cant just pop in and asked the condition of tires and are there any dings, dents, rips or scratches and if there are can they please take detailed pictures of them! Simple enough right? First reply from Salem was the car is still available and when can I come see it!!! Hello, don't you read your emails! I then explained that I sent a list of questions in the first email. The reply from Salem was what is your phone number so I can send pics. I replied, why cant you send to my email. Salem replies it wont let us!!! I explained in the first email that I was looking at to Panamera's. I replied I guess that means I will buy blue and white being the other dealer has the same software and they sent pics to my email. Salem replied, let me know what happens!!! What salesman on December 20th (month end and year end) walks away from a 70,000 cash sale because they can't send pictures via email!! GOOD LUCK in sales!! More
Classic "Bait & Switch" sales tactics. Saw vehicle on Carfax and dealer website listed for $21,888. Obviously their tactic to get interested parties to the dealership. Sticker on vehicle h Saw vehicle on Carfax and dealer website listed for $21,888. Obviously their tactic to get interested parties to the dealership. Sticker on vehicle had it at $29990. Vehicle photo showed vehicle with upgraded wheels and tires. Advertisement DID NOT indicate tires and wheels were an additional $2595. Also not listed was Interior & Exterior Protection for $1995, ELO GPS for $1995, Courtesy Guard for $1495 (could not find anything to explain what this is) and Nitro Fill for $495. Nearly $9000 for a sticker selling price of $38565. A far cry from advertised price. More
This dealership is fraudulent and puts the customer in danger. I purchased a used 2016 Hyundai Tuscon in 2019 $19.5K. After all the add ons - plus many we asked to remove as we had not requested I paid $2 danger. I purchased a used 2016 Hyundai Tuscon in 2019 $19.5K. After all the add ons - plus many we asked to remove as we had not requested I paid $24K for the car plus extended Hyundai Protection Plan. Took the car back to the dealership regularly complaining of lag, slipping out of gear and accelerating on its own. Dealership told me they had done a software update and its fine. Eventually they replaced the clutch - luckily under warranty. But did not fix the problem and next they replaced the entire transmission. Each interaction with the dealership was problematic. They never updated the customer, sat on information for extended periods of time, overall horrific experience. But the drama continues. Currently my car has been at the dealership for over 1 month as it now needs an entire engine rebuild. We completed the oil consumption test (all 3 steps) The dealer overfilled the oil and left the cap off the engine under the hood on the 1st test. Our service rep is no longer there, the receptionist is no longer there, the service manager left, the GM started in August... Ultimately DO NOT EXPECT SERVICE if you go here - just expect to get ripped off and run around. Hyundai Motor America are just as bad and have no goodwill to help a customer who bought a Hyundai vehicle in good faith. I hope this review helps someone make a decision. They are quick to sell you the car and upsell you but when it comes to maintaining or fixing their own products they are not capable. Do not go to this dealership, I hope the review saves you from the headaches I have endured. More
On November 7, 2022, I had an appointment to see and possibly purchase a used vehicle from Huntington Beach Hyundai. I drove from San Diego to see this vehicle and was ready to purchase the vehicle. I possibly purchase a used vehicle from Huntington Beach Hyundai. I drove from San Diego to see this vehicle and was ready to purchase the vehicle. I was greeted by the receptionist and was introduced to Ryan. We test drove the vehicle and then sat down to agree on terms for the sale. I was upfront with what terms I needed met to purchase the vehicle. The terms that I requested were attainable and were agreed upon by the manager. The only issue that I had with the terms was that Ryan stated that there would be addons that could not be removed to complete the sale. These addons were a ceramic coating for the paint, etching for parts of the vehicle, a gps system and a electronic license plate all for a total of approximately $5,000. I did not need or want any of these addons and did not wish to purchase them. I tried to come to an agreement about these addons but Ryan stated that they were non-negotiable and that he could only take off the electronic license plate. Ryan’s justification for these “mandatory” addons were because the vehicle was listed below market value and they needed to add the items to the sale so that they may turn a profit on the vehicle. His argument was that they would add to the value of the vehicle, which I did not agree with. During this entire process I kept professional and did not become aggressive or rude in any form, but Ryan began to become visibly agitated and condescending towards me. When we could not come to terms on the sale, Ryan got up and retrieved the keys to my vehicle, handed them to me and just walked away without saying anything and completely rude. I thanked Ryan for his time and apologized for not coming to an agreement on the purchase of the vehicle. I hope that my experience is not common with this dealership, but I just wanted to share my experience and what other prospective buyers should expect from this salesman, hopefully the other salesman treat their clients better. I have never had an experience like this while buying a vehicle. More

After test driving 10 plus cars of different makes and models, and talking to at last as many dealerships, it was Ted and Salem of Hyundai at Huntington Beach that finally had us signing the paperwork for models, and talking to at last as many dealerships, it was Ted and Salem of Hyundai at Huntington Beach that finally had us signing the paperwork for our new 2023 Palisade Calligraphy. From the moment we received a call from Ted, letting us know that the car we had decided on was in stock, our dealings with this dealership was the smoothest and most honest we had experienced. There was zero negativity on the sales floor and every exchange was enjoyable. Ted was a pleasure to work with along with Salem. I would be more than happy buy from them again. More
