After spending three weeks trying to find out what the true price was of one of their advertised specials, I came out and asked the salesman how much more he wanted to get for the car over & above the price they listed online. He said "$2,000." I said fine, and proceeded to catch a flight from San Jose to LAX then take a Lyft to Huntington Beach. While on the ground waiting for Lyft and during the ride, the salesman called me twice and told me they were down to one car left, and someone was looking at it, and then he proceeded to ask me if I would be interested in something over $4,000 more. When I arrived at the dealership, the chicanery continued for 45 minutes, during which I indicated I wanted the car but did not need it. After pretending to speak to his manager several times, he came back and announced, "I can't tell you how bad I feel." These people broke an oral contract with me not once but several times. I am out two plane tickets and four ride-shares. The cherry on the top was when after I said to George, "I need to get up and walk out." He followed me outside while I waited for my ride and said, "we only do these kinds of deals twice a year, but I'll keep you in mind." Their word means NOTHING WHATSOEVER to these people. I am used to double-talk and rigmarole, but these people have no business ethics or skills whatsoever. UPDATE - Remember George, the salesperson at Huntington Beach Dodge who called me at 8:00 Sunday morning to tell me that he would agree to sell me a new Dodge Challenger if I paid $2,000 above asking price? "You need to get on a plane right now. We only have two left," he said. Well, six hours after I posted my review about how he broke the oral contract after I took a flight from San Jose to LAX he sent me an email in which he seems to deny that the entire thing never happened. Well, George, it did happen. I am attaching a copy of your email you sent me denying you ever even met me. I am also attaching copies of the receipts from Priceline for the airplane tickets to and from San Jose and Los Angeles in the amounts of $168.10 and $208.09 as well as the boarding passes for those two flights. I am also attaching the receipts from Lyft for the four rides in the amounts of $26.31, $75.99, $54.37, and $24.99. I am not including any costs that are resulting from some merchant at LAX who stole my credit card data and resold it and began placing fraudulent charges on my account. SECOND UPDATE - I would like to bring to people's attention the trickery and deception Huntington Beach Dodge Jeep Ram uses when it writes loans. I was originally speaking with someone named Hassan. I told Hassan I had arranged my own financing through Bank of America. I had obtained a loan for $24,000 at 6.69-percent with a term of 48 months. This gave me a monthly payment of $571.26. I texted Hassan a screen shot of this information from my bank and told him I needed a purchase order for the car to upload to my loan approval, so the bank could make payment to the dealership. Hassan replied back with a "Retail Worksheet" that shows the financing Huntington Beach Dodge Jeep Ram wanted me to use. The "Retail Worksheet" he sent me shows an APR of 6.69-percent, but it includes several "adjustments" to the finance rate including something called an "AOR." When you use the principal, term, and the monthly payment from the "Retail Worksheet" and calculate the interest rate they are trying to charge, the true APR works out to be 12.75-percent, almost twice what my bank wants to charge me for the same loan.
