To buy a car I highly recommend Janis Jones, however, to sell/trade-in a car look elsewhere, an extreme lowball offer and negligible negotiation from Jas Kalsi was abhorrent and borderline offensive. Jas basically told me that because I was using an FCA affiliate discount program I qualified for on the price of the new vehicle, he needed to screw me over on my trade-in so that the dealership could "make some money" on the transaction. He offered me $2K-$6K less than Kelly Blue Book "Fair" trade-in valuation (although "good" value would have been a more accurate description) and would not budge at all on his initial lowball offer. I told him directly, you can either negotiate and come up a bit and meet me somewhere in the middle on the trade-in value and have a happy customer OR you can get your way and have a pissed-off customer; the choice is yours. He looked me in the eyes and said he could go up "maybe a hundred bucks or so." He didn't give a xxxx about my customer experience at all. He wanted to win at all costs. He opted to have his way, shortchanging a customer buying a $110K new vehicle on their trade-in, resulting in a disgruntled customer. Jas Kalsi is everything that is wrong with the car buying experience. Dealing with people like that is the reason that the public largely loathes stepping foot in car dealerships. The type of person who knows that since they have you in a position in which they have an advantage they will happily take money out of your pocket just so their numbers look better on their monthly report. Your customer experience and wallet be damned. Nothing gets in the way of Jas Kalsi getting what he wants. Even when the finance manager, Miguel Muniz, sensed an issue and attempted to rectify it by speaking directly with Jas Kalsi, he remained firm on his $27,500 offer without budging. He was more interested in his profit margins than in providing both parties a fair and equitable deal and creating a loyal lifelong customer. He prioritized his personal negotiation victory and a fatter bottom line over customer satisfaction. I can only assume he was happy with his choice because he was given multiple chances to rectify the situation and declined to do so. His actions reflect poorly on the dealership, leaving a gloomy shadow over the entire process. Every person that I speak to about my experience at Huffines Jeep will hear about Janis and her fantastic customer-centric, detailed, and thorough approach to facilitating the purchase of a new vehicle. I will also be sure to express Jas Kalsi by name to every single one and recommend that they seek to sell their trade-in elsewhere as in my opinion they will not be given any semblance of a fair deal at Huffines Jeep in that regard. According to Jas Kalsi's negotiating tactics, Huffines is going to get theirs, one way or another. I was about 30 seconds from calling the entire deal off because of Jas Kalsi's inflexibility and taking my business elsewhere. Janis Jones is the only reason I stayed. Jas Kalsi turned a great 5 star experience into a 1 star experience. Janis Jones and Miguel Muniz are the only reasons I am giving 3 stars rather than 1... because they both deserve 5 stars. I most likely would have added on one of the extended warranty/hail/wheel and tire packages, but after having dealt with Jas Kalsi I wasn't interested in any additional add-ons from Huffines. After feeling completely ripped off on my trade-in valuation, I was in no mood for additional costs. After the purchase, there is an issue with the navigation system of the Grand Wagoneer that requires the service department to address it. I let Janis know, and she set up an appointment with the service department and met me to give me a loaner while it is being addressed. I trust that they will rectify the problem however while I hope that Rose in the service department is like Janis, I have a fear in the back of my mind of running into another Jas. We shall see. More
