My wife and I had a very nice experience purchasing my new Tacoma truck. We went to other dealerships but was not able to find the color I was looking for so I called Hudson Toyota and they told me that they had one in stock,, we were on our way. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm friendly smile and asked how we were doing and how we could be helped. Mario Diogo our salesman was so helpful, very easygoing, knowledgeable, professional, friendly, I could go on and on.... and most importantly not-pushy. It was cold that day but it didn't bother Mario at all that we had to go into the lot to get the truck I was looking for. He wanted to make sure I took it for a test drive.. so I was comfortable and happy with it before purchasing it. We purchased the truck the same day. First Impressions and First Toyota Purchase The automotive industry is a tough industry with lots of competitors and its the first impression goes a long way. Needless to say, my car buying expe The automotive industry is a tough industry with lots of competitors and its the first impression goes a long way. Needless to say, my car buying experience from Hudson Toyota wasn't great at all. I looked online for the car I wanted and stopped by a Wednesday afternoon to look at it then take it for a test drive. Just after parking my there were a few salesman standing outside waiting to greet customers. I had to ask one of the sales guy standing outside to direct to me to the used car lot. He pointed me in the direction and it seems like he did not want to bothered at first. It was just my initial impression of them, so after a few minutes I told him the car I was looking exactly and eventually we were finally able to find it. Then he went to get the keys for the test drive. It took him a while to locate plates so we can go on the test drive, 15 minutes to be exact. After the test drive, I advised him I was interested in car and explained I had a trade in and as well. At this point, I told him I didn't want to play any games because I had a deal almost lined up at Toyota of Hackensack. I showed him the email in writing for my trade and purchase price for the exact same car I was looking at their location. He wanted to see the email so I sent it to him and then showed his manager. I told him that the reason I came to Hudson Toyota was that they are close to my work location and I gave them I shot to earn my business. After about 10-15 minutes he came back and said they can beat Hackensack deal it by 100. There were a few more negotiations afterwards and we agreed on a final number with the out the door price. Now on to the delivery, I had to wait about a hour for them to clean the car and everything. It was CPO Toyota so I expected a few things with it. First, the car had missing rear floor mats but had the front ones. I asked the sales guy what happened to them and he responded by saying "it doesn't come with them". So the front mats come on the car but not the rear ones? Isn't that strange? After a few minutes of complaining, he was able to find the rear ones to put in my car. Next, I was missing the owner's manual and told him about it. He said they will order it but I felt he was kind of brushing me off. I also ask for the extra set of keys and he also said it doesn't come with it. I was like come on this is a Certified Toyota? At that point, I just wanted to get out of there because I was pressed for time. I was going to take this up with higher management later. The day after I was trying to find contact information on the General sales manager on their site. There is no contact info listed for higher management. Is this done on purpose? Who knows but other dealers leave contact info for key personnel at the dealership. After an extensive search I found the GM contact info who forwarded my email to Cynthia C. Cynthia called me back and apologized and tried to correct my outstanding issues. She was very pleasant person to speak with and offered to have a new key made while I wait. Also, she gave me the owner's manual at the same time there. She also gave me a few goodies like a hat, mug, pens, and other stuff. Here's the kicker, my salesman's calls me afterwards and tells me that they found the extra keys and owner's manual. In my mind I was like Wow WTH. I returned the manual back to Cynthia and advised her what happened. I was thinking if the sales rep took the time before to look for these things we would not be in this situation. Overall, this wasn't experience I hoped for but had to jump through hoops get a resolution to my problems. Everyone new and CPO Toyota comes with first oil change for free, but I will decline and just do it myself. I will probably not take my car for service unless its something major or a recall. This is my first and last Toyota that I will ever buy from Hudson Toyota. I gave them two stars because of Cynthia, if not it would have been one. Unfortunately, we cant give zero stars. Maybe other people got a better experience than I did. Remember, when they say people will remember you by first impressions, its really true. I commend Cynthia for being very helpful and wished I dealt with her in the first place. More
