On August 31st, 2021, I bought a 2021 Nissan Sentra at Hudson Nissan in Jersey City, New Jersey. On September 4th, the car would not start due to an issue later determined to relate to a recall issued on Hudson Nissan in Jersey City, New Jersey. On September 4th, the car would not start due to an issue later determined to relate to a recall issued on the vehicle. Hudson Nissan connected me with Nissan Roadside Assistance on September 4th. Approximately 8 hours later, Nissan Roadside sent BeastMode Automotive to take my vehicle from my home, in Hoboken, New Jersey, to Hudson Nissan, in Jersey City, in order to fix this problem. However, BeastMode Automotive instead illegally took my car out of New Jersey and parked it in a garage in Queens, New York, at 95-41 150th Street. For the next five days, Beastmode Automotive held my car as leverage in a billing dispute between Nissan Roadside Assistance and Beastmode Automotive. On September 7th and September 8th, Beastmode Automotive demanded $450 and $600 to return my car to me. In further conversations on September 7th and September 8th, BeastMode Towing refused to return my car at any price. On September 9th, facing the prospect of criminal liability, BeastMode Automotive finally resolved their dispute with Nissan and returned my car to New Jersey and Hudson Nissan. That is, BeastMode Automotive had a billing dispute with one of their customers and decided to steal and hold the property of an unrelated third party, for five days, in order to resolve this dispute. BeastMode Automotive expressed extremely clearly to me on the phone that they that they decided to seize my car knowing that I had absolutely nothing to do with Beastmode Automotive and had nothing to do with BeastMode Automotive’s relationship with Nissan. I posted the above message shortly after all that happened. Until that point, I had not received as much a return phone call from Hudson Nissan. After I posted this review, Hudson Nissan called me and told me that they would do what they could to make things right, when I brought the car in for servicing. I recently discovered that the car had sustained damage while it was being held by Beastmode Automotive. I hoped the call from Nissan Hudson meant that they might abstain from directly profiting from fixing an almost brand new car that their partner was responsible for damaging. Nissan Hudson has the documentation to determine that the car was damaged during the time that Nissan Roadside was responsible for the car. I knew that the warranty wouldn’t cover such damage. I had hoped that doing what “they could” meant Hudson Nissan would not profit substantially from fixing damage to the car sustained during the time Hudson Roadside Assistance was responsible for the car. I didn’t expect Hudson Nissan to pay for a replacement part. Hudson Nissan of course needs to pay their workers to do the labor that they do. If Hudson Nissan had said, we’ll cover all of our costs and take 10%, even 5% less profit than we normally do on labor costs, I would have been happy with that. I would have been happy with being charged 840 dollars instead of 850 dollars. The employee in their Service Center told me quite frankly that what I had been told by Nissan Hudson(that Hudson Nissan would try to make things right, as much as they could, when I brought the car in for servicing) was not the case. He said that Nissan Hudson was perfectly fine with selling me a brand new car that didn't start, sending me to their partner to have it towed, and then later charging me for the damage their partner did to my car after they towed it. When I got in my car, I found that a Hudson Nissan employee apparently had driven my car to “Jollibee Hudson Commons” to order spaghetti and a Pepsi, and then left the receipt in my car, documenting the 17 miles put on my car. The repair would not have required a single mile of driving, let alone 17 miles. Hudson Nissan seems to lack the most basic sense of integrity. Most businesses have a greater sense of responsibility when selling a bag of potato chips than Hudson Nissan has when selling a new car. More
Went to Hudson Nissan to buy out my lease vehicle at the end of the lease. Salesman Rodriguez Gomez and his sales manager told me that NJ State Law requires the dealership perform a Safety Inspection that w end of the lease. Salesman Rodriguez Gomez and his sales manager told me that NJ State Law requires the dealership perform a Safety Inspection that would cost me $160. Not the lease end inspection which is free. I have leased many cars over the years in NJ and never heard of this. I questioned both of them and they insisted. I walked out. Half hour later they called back telling me they would “take care of me if I came back to the showroom.” I told them to give me the payout amount and proposed financing first and if the terms are acceptable I would come back. Never heard from them again. Crooks. Try another dealership. More
Labor costs way too high - doubt if I would ever get service again. Felt like I was truly ripped off. Charging a labor charge for every single item is taking advantage of the customer. Lines right up th service again. Felt like I was truly ripped off. Charging a labor charge for every single item is taking advantage of the customer. Lines right up there with corporate greed. Disappointed and still feel the sting. More
