I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and a recall. I made sure to make an appointment for the recall ahead of time to ensure they had the necessary parts. The service department called to tell me my vehicle was ready, then proceeded to tell me that they didn't do the recall because they didn't have the parts, and they would call to setup another appointment when the parts came in. I asked what the point of making an appointment was if they weren't going to have the material on hand ahead of time. The service tech said that they order the parts for recalls based on the VIN. They have the VIN! Why wouldn't they order the parts ahead of time? Now I have to waste another Saturday if, and when, the parts arrive. It's exactly how I envision spending my weekends. Wasting my time because of other people's lack of forethought. More
