I worked with Jesus at Hudson Honda for my 1st vehicle. You hear horror stories from people about car dealerships and I was a little scared. I have to say it was the best experience I have ever had. As a young woman, from the moment I stepped into this Honda dealership to get my car serviced, I felt like the service agent was trying to rip me off. I later found out that he genuinely did. I brought my car in for a B1 service, meaning oil change and tire rotation. The first thing the agent did was quote me $780 for all sorts of fixes he said the car needed to be in tip top shape. This is a car we bought in 2019. There’s no way it needs that much work this quickly. My husband and dad talked to me about it later and they were both shocked that quote was ever in play — they said there’s no way he would have quoted such a high amount for such a new car if I was a guy. He tried lower quotes after that (in the $300s) but I ultimately decided to go with a coupon that included oil change, tire rotation, and multi point inspection for $70. He came back later and said that his guys had found bubbles in one of the wheels, and suggested that I buy a new wheel from them. At that point, I was feeling so convinced that he was trying to squeeze the max amount of money from me that I refused, thinking I would take it to another dealership. He said he would do the tire rotation on one side, but not the other because of these bubbles. I asked (since he only completed half of the tire rotation job) if he would give me a discount for not completing the work. He chuckled a bit at that request and offered a few dollars off. When I pushed back a bit, he said that the tire rotation and inspection included in the coupon was actually free, and that I was paying the $70 for the oil change. (Mind you, during the entire time I was in front of him, he variously quoted me $24, or $45, or $70 for an oil change). I totally understand if there’s a minimum you need to make from each customer to make it worth your while to have a car taking up space in the shop. If that’s the case, just be up front about it! I would have respected that. Don’t keep changing the prices on me or telling me I need all these extra things! I decided to just pay whatever he was asking and get out of there. The cherry on this pie is that the next day, I realized that they didn't do the tire rotation on that one side! We’ve marked our tires with a sharpie to keep track of them and when I checked, the tires were exactly in the same place as when I drove into the shop. So on top of trying to squeeze me out of my money, they also didn’t do the work they promised they would do. Genuinely wild. I will never go back there and I caution you all to do the same. More
