We brought our 2014 Focus to Hudson Ford to get the transmission checked out. If you own a Focus or Fiesta with 6 spd auto you are probably with the problems these have. Ford sold these trannys knowing they had problems. Of course that's not the issue I have with Hudson Ford. They charged me $150 to diagnose the problems we were having. I told them the trans had the usual stutter, made noise shifting into fourth and sometimes would not go into gear at all. When we picked the car I was told exactly what I told them when I dropped it off. They said they could install a rebuilt trans for $6,000 (part only) plus labor. The quoted fixing this one I don't remember the exact amount but it was very high and depending what else they might find it could go much higher. We just parked the car at home and stopped driving it. Fast forward to now. We had a mechanic look at it and first thing he noticed was that it was very low on fluid and a seal was leaking. I was not happy that Hudson Ford did not see that. They did not see it because they didn't check the fluid and they did not even remove the splash guard to give a visual inspection. That's shoddy service at the very least and in my opinion it is fraud. The charged me money for services they did not perform. I've talked to several other service managers at different dealerships and they all said basically the same thing "of course we check the fluid and do a visual inspection." What did Hudson Ford do to earn $150 of my money?? I talked with the service manager at Hudson Ford and let him know I wasn't happy with the service I received. He explained to me that the $150 was a standard charge and he has to pay his technicians. That was a shocking revelation to me that you have to pay your employees! Who knew that was a thing? What that has to do with the poor service I received is anyone's guess? If he's paying employees that are not doing their job it sound like a management problem and not a customer problem. The service manager was not apologetic in any way. To me he seemed condescending and rude. The bottom line is that he refused to refund my money and now we get to waste time in small claims court. Everybody I dealt with in sales and service have always been friendly. I even brought my son to buy his first a couple years ago. The bottom line is that service did not do their job this time. It seems pretty simple to be honest about it, apologize and refund the money. Unfortunately the service manager wants to take a much bumpier road. I spoke with the service manager Dylan??
