Hudson Ford - Service Center

I am 100% satisfied with the service at Hudson Ford. I am not, however, 100% satisfied with the Ford Motor Company. Recently we had the tires rotated at Hudson Ford. We were advised that the lug nuts needed not, however, 100% satisfied with the Ford Motor Company. Recently we had the tires rotated at Hudson Ford. We were advised that the lug nuts needed to be replaced at $5.39 each. There are 20 of these nuts per car. The cause of this problem, in my opinion, is twofold. One, the design incorporates a shell over the structural nut and two, using an impact tool with the incorrect socket results in damage to the outer shell. Bottom line is that the nut becomes distorted to the point of preventing removal. These things are removed/installed on a pretty regular basis (tire rotation) and should last the life of the car. I understand that there are solid lug nuts available as replacements but they are something in the order of $8.50 each. This may seem petty but it could well be an issue when time comes to purchase a new car. I guess time will tell. It is too bad that the lawsuit against Ford Motor Company on this issue was dismissed. The salesperson Chelsey was great and extended every curtesy possible. The dealership found the vehicle I was looking for which was great. I was impressed with the level of service from Hudson (WI) Ford. I have been using them for my last two regular service intervals. Plus I bought tires at a very reasonable price. Their communications have been excellent, in that they advised me what I may need to look for in my future service needs. Now you may think they were trying to sell me services, but in fact it was a matter of you won't need brakes until we reach this measurement, you won't need air filters until we reached the requires mileage point.
