I brought our XC90 in for a scheduled 50,000 mile tune up and an oil change. The Service guy showed me a one-page sheet of various tune-up packages listed according to services required per the amount of mi and an oil change. The Service guy showed me a one-page sheet of various tune-up packages listed according to services required per the amount of mileage on my car. I qualified for services costing $350, which was basically $30 for an oil change and $320 for nothing. After I dropped the car off and they began work, the pushy Service guy called me back exclaiming that my spark plugs were shot, my brake fluid was bad, the coolant and transmission fluid needed a flush (or something to that effect), and the car supposedly pulled to the right so I needed a high-tech computer tire re-balance. All said and done, he rushed me into approving over $1,600 in unnecessary work. This dealership takes advantage of the uneducated consumer, who, unless you are a mechanic by profession, should probably do some extensive research before bringing your car to Howard Orloff or at least get a second opinion. I will never go back and would never recommend this dealership to anyone. They are crooks through and through!!!!!!! Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!! More
I went to this dealership for a burst radiator hose on a Discovery with 70K miles. They repeatedly fixed some things, hoses, thermostats etc. and sent me away each time, not getting more than a mile away be Discovery with 70K miles. They repeatedly fixed some things, hoses, thermostats etc. and sent me away each time, not getting more than a mile away before the engine overheated again. Finally after having the car towed back to them 3 times at my own expense they told me the engine heads had been warped and I would need a new engine. I took my business elsewhere. Thier negligance cost me an entire engine for a burst radiator hose. I would seriously think twice about taking a car to them. They cheated me out of hundreds of dollars so that I could take the car somewhere else and spend thousands to fix their mistakes. More
Just can't ever get it right the first time! But they will dazzle you with their self perceived "Orloff Experience." Yet I still purchased 3 cars from them - I guess I'm the idiot. The primarly problems will dazzle you with their self perceived "Orloff Experience." Yet I still purchased 3 cars from them - I guess I'm the idiot. The primarly problems are quite often experienced after the sale of the vehicle - go figure. Bought a "Certified 2004 Land Rover" - of the 1st 79 days of ownership, it spent 42 of those days in the shop. Still cannot figure out how the vehicle was ever certified in the first place? They basically replaced the complete drive train, requiring 4 different stays in the shop. They just couldn't figure out what was wrong, so through the process of elimination/replacement they finally got it. I was told on one occasion that the plug wires were not in the proper order! How could this happen to a vehicle that went through a 140 point inspection? I certianly hope when they go looking for the warranty work reimbursement from LR North America somebody on that end asks some questions. More
I have been here twice and both times, both service reps did not answer my phone calls or call me back. When I went to pick up my car (Range Rover headlight fixed), they gave me the run-around and said it w did not answer my phone calls or call me back. When I went to pick up my car (Range Rover headlight fixed), they gave me the run-around and said it wouldn't be done that day!! To replace a headlight bulb!! I brought it back and experienced rude behavior by the other service rep. The problem is this is the only Land Rover dealership in the city. I would not recommend this place for anything!!! More
I have repeatedly been to this dealer, because my car is under warranty. Each time I felt like they have just ripped me off. Usually they will state the repairs needed are not under warranty and I will ha under warranty. Each time I felt like they have just ripped me off. Usually they will state the repairs needed are not under warranty and I will have to pay hundreds of dollars for the fix. The last time I went was an emergency brake situation and they ended up telling me the cost would be close to $2000.00 for a brake job!!!! I went to a local reccommended mechanic and paid less than $500 for the whole thing. AND this mechanic used Volvo parts, so don't let them tell you that they are the only ones with Volvo certified parts. Be extremely cautious if you must use Orloff Volvo, but check out another reputable mechanics price before agreeing to any repairs. I will bet you do better w/the mechanic. More
