2003 Toyota Corolla with 130k We appreciate the review but it may be skewed and misrepresent what truly happened. The vehicle was inspected thoroughly by you, we even disclosed that this was the oldest vehicle we carried at the time, and pointed out the noise that it was making. You mentioned that it was originating from the power steering pump, and that you would have it fixed. The extended warranty was declined (this warranty protects against any unforseen issues that can occur with vehicles beyond our control). A few days later you said the motor had seized up, and that your shop said it needed a new one. We found that hard to believe, after you paid a diag fee to them, you drove it to us for the first time to have our third party technical verify the work that it needed. You had sent many texts stating that your shop just wanted to sell you a motor and wanted a second opinion. We didn't charge you a diag or any sort of fee to verify what the issue was. Bare in mind you drove the vehicle back to us. Our technician stated that there was a solenoid or a guide that needed to be replaced along with the oil pump. We were able to do the work, but you said that you needed to get back to work at the local smoke shop and didn't have time to have it repaired and that you would do it your self. At which point you picked the vehicle back up and drove it back to your side of town. At no point have we seen the motor seized up at this point. A few days later we saw a text stating the motor had seized up. We offered to have the issue fixed but you decided to take the vehicle. We are still open to helping you out, and are willing to have the vehicle reviewed by our tech again. We need to see in writing where a reputable shop has diagnosed the 2003 Corolla properly. Keep in mind the vehicle was sold as is, with the buyer declining the extended warranty. We are still willing to help, but only with proper documentation. If the motor was truly seized up, the vehicle wouldn't have been able to drive around as much as it already has. Furthermore, the third party technician verified that the oil pump and the VvT solenoid were the issue. Both of these are common on the 03' Corolla of this age.
