"...it is impossible to avoid this completely" Most dealerships we've dealt with in the past have put hold tags on the vehicle and not sold them out from under a customer that's on their way to look at it. We would have appreciated the courtesy call if it wasn't the day after we came to your dealership. It's a little late to change our mind regarding this situation; we've already found another vehicle and won't be needing your services anymore. I appreciate the response and hope there are some takeaways so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

This vehicle had a purchase price agreed upon, but there was a contingency from the buyer, which means that the vehicle was still for sale. Although I understand you are disappointed that we sold it, we had simply sold a vehicle to the first buyer that was willing to pay for it. Tim, I didn't deal with you directly, but when I gave the deposit. I was told that the vehicle was going to be moved to the Sold lot. (Gary confirmed this) This obviously wasn't the case. If the vehicle was going to be continue on to be for sale, then why take a deposit. Regardless, their actions reflect directly upon the dealership reputation.
