I never had a service rep call me by name on my first service with the dealership. I had a few questions and Peter answered in a way that I felt he was thankful for my business. All three guys at the service desk were very friendly. Peter said, we'll get right on your repair, and while you wait we have TV, coffee, and donuts for our customers. After the service was completed Peter made a few recommendations for future service, but the approach was strictly low-key, no-pressure, and such a change from my past experience with other dealers over the years. On the way out to the car, a young man in the Horne KIA uniform opened the door for us, another surprise! It was like they were saying we value your business from the young man to the service rep. One more item, the bathrooms were spotless, a sign of respect for the customers. Thanks for a very pleasant experience. More
Purchased a new Kia Soul, The vehicle comes with the Black Shadow Paint and some minor scratches were found on the vehicle, One one area an attempt was made to buff them out by someone. The vehicle als Black Shadow Paint and some minor scratches were found on the vehicle, One one area an attempt was made to buff them out by someone. The vehicle also has a slight pull to the right. We brought the vehicle back to the dealership one Friday and contacted the salesman whom I had notified previously of the issues, He examined the paint and brought back a manager by the name of Jason who examined the areas and drove the car around to someone in the back of the dealership while my wife and I conversed with our salesman, Dean, who helped us make an appointment with the service department to address the issue of the front end pull. Jason came back and told us to bring in the Soul that next Tuesday and the paint issue and alignment would be addressed. My wife went back that day, waited for two hours and was told nothing was done. Nick in service told her the car was put up on a rack and nothing unusual was found, She was also informed by Nick that after 1000 miles, Kia Souls will NATURALLY HAVE A PULL TO THE RIGHTt!!! She also was told that natural curves in the road will force a pull to the right (why not to the left?). The paint issue was not corrected, the excuse was that the technicians were told by Jason that the paint problem was on the INSIDE, not outside! My wife was furious and left, calling me later on in the day on this, When I called Jason that Tuesday, he promised to look into this and stated the dealership did not want to lose our business and would have to contact a manager (Nick;s boss) in the service department. It is Saturday and of yet I have not heard back from the dealership. I am 60 years old and have had in my lifetime, six new cars, all in Washington State. With that in mind, I have never experiences such poor customer service treatment. I have absolutely no confidence in this dealership now and am stating my case not out of bitterness but try to alert others that in my opinion, if you are looking for a Kia, avoid this dealership. Don't make the mistake my wife and I did by choosing Horne Kia. More
On Friday, Oct 26, 2012 I took my van in for service to Horne-Kia, because they are about 2 miles from my house. I had two problems that I needed addressed. 1. My ESC (Electronic Stabilizer Control) c Horne-Kia, because they are about 2 miles from my house. I had two problems that I needed addressed. 1. My ESC (Electronic Stabilizer Control) caution light would light up intermittently. 2. My vehicle alarm system would have to be manually disengaged, otherwise, it would go off whenever you entered the vehicle. I SPECIFICALLY told the service advisor that it was my understanding that my warranty is still in full force (The van is only 2 yrs old and has less than 30,000 miles on it!). I did receive a ride back home (about 3 miles away) very quickly, which is one reason I gave a "OK" for customer service. After several hours passed, I realized that Nicholas didn't ask me my contact number, so I called him. Nicholas told me the number they had for me was no longer in service. However, since I didn't give him a number, I'm not sure what phone they had for me. What's strange is that I've had my cell # and home # for YEARS, and both are still in service. I guess it was a good thing that I called back. They did correct the first problem. And I will also state that different Kia Dealership FAILED to located the problem (this was the second time I brought the van in to a dealer for the ESC light). I would have given a "Great" review, except for how my second problem was addressed. I was told by Nicholas that when the tech came back from lunch, it was easy for him to verify the alarm system was not working properly when he opened the door. Their suggested remedy (From my receipt): "Technician recommends removing aftermarket alarm". It was then that I found out that I was going to be charged for the technician "checking" out the alarm system, since it was a dealer installed alarm, and we had bought the van at Tempe-Kia. I told Nicholas that I was surprised about the charge, because had I KNOWN there was going to be a charge, I would have taken the van to Kia-Tempe to save me the $55 charge for "verification". I decided that I would find out what the problem was, and get it fixed before contacting the Service Manager at Horne-Kia. Today, I took the van to Tempe-Kia to address the REMAINING PROBLEM of the alarm system. I was there for less than 30 minutes (I did call and set up an appointment). Their alarm installer told me that one wire had become pinched, and that it's now fixed. NO CHARGE, by the way. So, it seems that removing the entire system WASN'T NEEDED! Once I learned that, I called back, and asked to speak to the SERVICE MANAGER for Horne-Kia (Carl Storgardd) about the $55 charge, the tech's suggestion, and what little it took to fix the problem. I let him know that I think I should be refunded the money since I DID NOT authorize it (although Nicholas claims that I did), and that it was a MINOR "repair". Carl supported the charge, despite my LOGICAL argument that in order to prevent ANY CHARGE for the alarm system, I would have happily driven it to Kia-Tempe, even though it's over 8 miles away. You can buy a lot of gas for $55! I WILL NEVER GO TO Kia-Horne AGAIN! Since Nicholas's word was more trusted than mine, they added insult to injury! Nicholas didn't ask me for my number, yet he remembers telling me it'll cost $55 for his tech to "check out" the alarm system? Yea, right! And don't forget to watch out for flying pigs! I'm also going to make similar comments on other websites about this situation. I've already advised my friends/family about what happened (Thank you internet!) Had the $55 been refunded, I would have written a much more positive statement about Horne-Kia. IMHO (and as a matter of FACT!), I was charged for service that I DID NOT HAVE ASKED FOR, SINCE I COULD HAVE HAD IT CHECKED AND FIXED FOR FREE AT Tempe-Kia! Horne-Kia will NEVER receive another dollar from me! More

I had my vehicle towed to the dealership for repairs needed. I spoke to Mickey before I had it dropped off there and he assured me a diagnostic would be completed very soon after drop-off. My vehicle wa needed. I spoke to Mickey before I had it dropped off there and he assured me a diagnostic would be completed very soon after drop-off. My vehicle was dropped off before 11 a.m. I then called at 12, then 1 and was told someone would call me back within 5-10 minutes. I waited 15 minutes then called back again. When I called back I was put on an extended hold by the lady answering the phone, so long I rang back the dealership. I then called back and got the same lady who then told me I would need to wait five minutes for Mickey to call me back. I waited 10 minutes, Mickey never called back and I was told he was "still with a customer". By then someone else, a man, answered the phone and told me that my battery was "no good" and that I would need to either buy a new one or go to Autozone where I bought it and exchange it before a complete diagnostic could be done. I was flabbergasted! So, I have to go get a battery for you to run a test?! I called AAA and had them come out to do a diagnostic and my battery tested perfectly but my alternator did not, I DID NOT have to go buy a new battery or exchange it for them to tell me that, either. And to add insult to injury, I get in my van when I arrive and it starts right up but my battery is "no good" though?! Wow, I am amazed at how tactless and deceitful this dealership's service department was. Needless to say, I had my car taken to another dealer for repairs. More
