Early in the morning on March 1st, 2024, my husband noticed a 2023 Certified Kia Sportage EX Hybrid Premium AWD posted on Autotrader. He sent the message and received a reply for an appointment for that afternoon at Horne Kia Gilbert, AZ. Now, my husband, due to his profession and the upcoming events, he is extremely busy. To my husband’s surprise, his director allowed him to leave 3 hours early on a busy Friday. My husband hopped on a plane, I was permitted to leave 3 hours early as well and I picked him up at PHX. Once at Horne Kia, not only was the vehicle not ready as it appeared. The vehicle was blocked-in, covered inside and out with dirt, located at the back of the dealership. My husband even noticed debris, leaves and such in the engine bay. Then Melek said the vehicle had not been reconditioned and could not be driven. Now, this is a vehicle Horne Kia is claiming as, “Certified.” The Gunny in my husband came out as he demanded to see the dealership director. Melek introduced us to Al, my husband did not believe him to be the director as we were not escorted to an office. Al and my husband had an intense conversation outside, I believe as a distraction while the vehicle was being cleaned. We drove the vehicle and decided to make an offer. Melek was overbearing, maybe due to the variety of questions my husband was tossing at him. Little did he know my husband performed a good amount of research before going to the dealership, as he constantly asked to see the verbiage that Melek was claiming was mandatory. My husband continuously asked to see the finance manager which we didn’t see until late. We were at the dealership for over 6 hours and were not pleased. We got off work early and my husband flew in for a vehicle that was not certified as advertised nor ready for sale. Horne Kia made no attempt to rectify the situation. Ladies and Gentlemen, you are just a number here at Horne Kia, they say and will do anything to get you in the door. More
SCAMMERS! !!! I got my engine replaced here and when i got my car back it was shaking! The guy responsible's name was Javier. I told Javier it wasn't doing that !!! I told Javier it wasn't doing that prior and he investigated and said it was the motor mounts. Then he tried to charge me $1400+ to fix something they broke. At first his excuse was that this can happen due to installation of the new engine and that was why they suggested beforehand to purchase motor mounts. I told him to bring me the paperwork of what you suggested because I ASSURE you I WAS NEVER SUGGESTED THAT. He confidently left and came back saying "Ohh looks like we never sent it out to you but i have it here". Then his next excuse was "it was doing that before it got here!". Then i spoke with the manager named Robert and he was absolutely no help at all! I told him this is bad business! I brought it into the shop with no shake and I leave from your shop with a shake. Then Robert said they don't touch the motor mounts and theres no way that the install could affect it. Directly contradicting what Javier said saying that IT CAN and thats why they "allegedly" recommend it. THEN THEY TRIED TO GET ME TO SIGN A CONTRACT REAL QUICK AND WHEN I READ IT IT SAID I DECLINED REPAIRS!!!!!!! Scam artist!!!!! NEVER GO HERE! Then I called KIA Corporate and its been months with no response! More

I just bought a used Ford Bronco from Horne Kia and had a great experience. My sales rep Jacob was very friendly and knowledgeable; a pleasure to deal with. After looking at the CARFAX, I see that in preppin great experience. My sales rep Jacob was very friendly and knowledgeable; a pleasure to deal with. After looking at the CARFAX, I see that in prepping this vehicle for sale, they replaced all 4 tires, changed the oil and installed a new air filter and cabin air filter. They surely could have squeezed out more profit by not doing any of this work, so I’m so appreciative of them doing so. And I even drove away with a full tank of gas. Thank you Jacob and Horne Kia! Kia has improved in quality from a manufacturing standpoint, but many of their salespeople are still using the same old tactics of bottom feeder dealerships selling less reputable cars while simultaneously trying to compete with similarly priced luxury brands.
