This is for the Honeycar in Charlottesville. .... I really hate to come back with this, but I’m extremely disappointed with Honeycar. When I purchased my Kona, I was told that the wheel bearings .... I really hate to come back with this, but I’m extremely disappointed with Honeycar. When I purchased my Kona, I was told that the wheel bearings had been replaced back in June. Recently, after taking my car to a Hyundai dealer in Richmond for a multipoint inspection, I found out that not only were the bearings never replaced, but they are in bad condition — and to make matters worse, the brakes had been installed incorrectly. This feels like I was misled just to move the car off the lot. Every time I came back about the car jerking, I was given a different excuse instead of a real solution. It got to the point where I stopped going back because nothing was being resolved, nor was I offered the option to get into something more reliable. On top of that, the car was sold “as is” with a poor-quality extended warranty that does little to help. I’ve been patient and respectful throughout this process, but it seems like my situation was taken advantage of simply because of my credit. It feels like I was put into whatever car would benefit the dealership, regardless of its safety or reliability. This isn’t just about me — people’s livelihoods and safety are on the line when they purchase a vehicle. Cutting corners and misrepresenting repairs is unacceptable, and it could have caused serious damage. I truly hope Honeycar does better in the future. More
If I could give the dealership a negative star review I would. We purchased a car for my daughter. When we test drove the car the check engine light was on. We were told the car just arrived and they had n would. We purchased a car for my daughter. When we test drove the car the check engine light was on. We were told the car just arrived and they had not completed the inspection of the car. We told them that we purchase the car as long as the check engine light was nothing major. We were told that the check engine light was due to the gas cap. Drove the and a week later the check engine light came on again and the car overheated. We had the car towed to our mechanic and called Honey Car. We were told that if our mechanic touched the car they would not repair. Car was then towed to Honey Car, where this time they told us it was that the cooling system has a hole in a hose and that they fixed it. A couple of week later the car completely died and the car was towed back to Honey Car. This time they told us it was a blown head gasket and they would not fix. Had the car towed to our mechanic and asked for all the paper work showing the diagnostic that they had done to determine what was wrong with the car. They never put the car on the machine to check why the check engine light was on, they did an oil change and turned the light off. Our mechanic just called and there is even more wrong with the car, beside the head gasket, when they drained the oil from the car it was filled with metal! The car is not worth fixing and we can only get at the most $300 for scrapping it. So we are out $8000 and my daughter is without a car. Walk away and go to another dealership - don't let this happen to you. This was my daughters first car purchase and she was so excited, but now we know they just took her for a ride. More
