I am a 68 year old retired veteran 100% disabled and I live in New York State. On or about November 16, 2024 I inquired via email to the Honesdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership Honesdale, Pennsylvani live in New York State. On or about November 16, 2024 I inquired via email to the Honesdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership Honesdale, Pennsylvania about a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited VIN 1C4RJFG6FC102108 Stock No. 103108T (see: attached) which at that time was advertised for $9,950, since then and now the price has fluctuated up and down to $11,490 (see attached) An automatic reply via email was instantly received. On or about Wednesday November 18, 2024 I drove 94 miles from my home to the Honesdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership. I met with a sales lade named Melissa Sites. I explained to her that I was looking to trade my 2014 Chevy Impala LT Limited in, of which at that time I owed around $3,500. My credit score at that time was just above 800, and it has been for as long as I can remember. She (allegedly) made several inquiries to various lenders. And she told me that they were all negative. Prior to my retiring I use to work for various car dealers in the Syracuse area. I would handle auctions and numerous other parts of their business. I explained that the banks now, do not want to finance a vehicle over 19 years old for more than 48 months. And I wanted to keep my monthly payments as low as I could get them. On or about December 18, 2024 I called Honesdale dealership and spoke with Melissa. I stated that they still had the Jeep I wanted and it is advertised at $170 per month for 72 months with $2,000 down. It is now $10,490. Again it advertised as $162 a month for 72 months with $2,000 down. It is illegal in New York under General Business Law Section 396 and in Pennsylvania UTPCPL, located at 73 P.S. § 201-1, et seq., for Auto Dealers to use the “bait and switch” advertising scam to lure you to the dealership by advertising or giving you a low price over the phone or in advertising when infact they cannot get you into that deal. A dealer advertises a low price or payment and does not have the actual vehicle on the premises and does not have a financial institution that will provide that deal. The low price advertised is called the “BAIT. New York Penal Law Section 190.20 makes it a misdemeanor to false advertise. Terrible… had an appointment to look at a specific truck confirmed availability and appointment the day before, the next day I got a call enroute to the dealership that another salesman sold the truck “yest confirmed availability and appointment the day before, the next day I got a call enroute to the dealership that another salesman sold the truck “yesterday”. Ok so there were a few others that were similar so I agreed to continue on. I get there and the salesman insists he needs a copy of my license to show me the trucks? I told him I wasn’t going to test drive either truck unless I saw them and I was interested, but he insisted I could look at them without a copy of my license. No way they need your license to look at a truck if they did you would need to give them a copy of your license to step into the showroom floor. On top of that the trucks were originally owned in Canada… so the factory warranty does NOT apply any longer. I also spoke to Mopar and they won’t sell a factory MaxCare warranty for them either. Sooo no warranty unless you go with a third party and good luck with that. Buyer BEWARE, stay away from this place and do your due diligence at others. I was an easy deal…. No trade, Tier 1 credit, fully approved for far more than the advertised price of the truck by one of their lenders and over 50% cash down in hand. Glad I looked deeper!! More
Wouldn’t even give them 1 star if I didn’t have to to write this review.I’ll start by saying, DO NOT GO HERE. Turn around if you are considering purchasing a car from these xxxxxxxx. By far the absolut write this review.I’ll start by saying, DO NOT GO HERE. Turn around if you are considering purchasing a car from these xxxxxxxx. By far the absolute worst dealership I’ve ever been to. They always say that dealerships will scam you, but this was as clear as day. Drove an hour to purchase a Jeep that I was told would be the price listed, after doing all the paper work and ready to purchase, all of a sudden the price has gone up almost 5k and I am told I don’t get the price listed online because I don’t qualify for 3 rebates. I asked why I wasn’t told this from the beginning and showed him the price I initially saw. He claimed that the prices go up daily and he never had seen that price. I showed him the picture and he shows his manager, just to come out and tell us that someone else is test driving the vehicle / purchasing it. xxx. I have never seen anything like this and absolutely am disgusted with how ignorant people can be. More

I drove 2 hours to look at a jeep they had . I was already approved for my financing. Capital one has them as one of the dealerships approved. I had set filters for the make , model and price I was already approved for my financing. Capital one has them as one of the dealerships approved. I had set filters for the make , model and price that I wanted to stay in. The vehicle was listed at $22,990. I drove it and planned to purchase . George the salesman came back with a total of $6k more . Apparently the fine print at the bottom of the page says that price is for veterans and return buyers. I have NEVER heard of such a thing. He claimed everyone does this. I have been searching for weeks and I went back and looked at other vehicles I was interested in at other dealers and NO ONE does this ! Also, want to add. We needed to use the restroom and asked if there were a restroom we could use. The response was "No, you have to pee on the tires". My 73 year old mother was with me. He's speaking to two LADIES and thats funny or professional !! I think not. More
If you like getting robbed and bait and switched this is the place to go! This place will take advantage of you in a heart beat. My wife and I had been looking around to get a new jeep after I hit a deer a the place to go! This place will take advantage of you in a heart beat. My wife and I had been looking around to get a new jeep after I hit a deer and totaled our other one. We saw online that this place had a great sales price going on so we went to look. We met with George the sales person. Toured the lot. Was told that the jeep we were coming in to look at was sold, but we found it in the upper lot- red flag #1. The wife drove it down to the show room and then I test drove it. When I test drove it I realized that it had an after market radio, not a huge deal but that means it no longer had GPS, or Sirius radio as advertised. When I brought that up to George he said the people that wrote that on line doesn’t actually see the vehicle- red flag #2. We sat down and filled out the information they needed for financing. When doing so George was asking about discounts that we may qualify for. He came back with a price of paper and the jeep price went up 6K from what it was listed at! Reason being because we didn’t qualify for the “discounts”. The “discount” were called out in fine print on the bottom of the listing on their website under everything that not one person would end up scrolling to-red flag #3 Georgebtold the wife that I had very good attention to detail and sales people don’t like that- I know the business and how it works and what they do in the back room when it comes to finance and percentage holds and warranty price. I am not about to get taken advantage of. I was ready to walk but George went and they lowered the price some. Still way above the listed price. They wouldn’t bring it down any more because the other reason was it was going to go to auction. The wife really wanted it so we let them run the numbers. Joe the finance manager came back with 2 approvals right away. The first one was double the interest we have ever paid. They were trying to talk us into it because they didn’t require proof of income. And that would be the easiest. Red flag #4 I know it’s because the bank would give them a larger kick back for writing us. The other bank required the proof- no issue. When first asked Joe what the interest rate was and it was higher then we could get from our bank but we still let them run the numbers for the sake of it. When Joe came back with the numbers the interest rate went up 1.2% higher then he first told us. Red flag #5 I asked for the out the door price and we left for the day because we had other obligations for the day. But Joe took my bank card to place a hold on the Jeep. Joe gave me a hand written receipt with the amount of deposit. When we looked at our bank we noticed that more was taken out. Red flag #6 I called them the next day they were open. Told them that I feel we could get a better out the door price knowing that the Jeep was going to auction they would not get what they were asking for it. I spoke with Joe and he told me that he couldn’t do it. Also that if I was going to use an outside financing company the price would be 2k more then the price he gave me days before!! Red flag #7. When I told him to cancel the hold and refund the full amount they took out of my bank he told me he couldn’t do that because the credit machine charges to swipe the card. I was never told that or I would have went down the road to the bank and pulled out cash. He tried to blame it on George. Red flag #8. I spoke with the GM. I don’t remember his name but he in turn told me that they could do the full amount in the refund. We waited a week for the refund. Spoke with people on and off the whole day. Joe even told me that he would email me a receipt. I didn’t get one so I called the next day and went through the same thing. Joe called me back asking for the card number. I tried to call back even left messages. Then drove down there after waiting 6 hours for a call back. I have my refund and will never go back there again. They are the worst dealership More
Honesdale CDJR is the WORST Dealership in the nation! The buying experience started April 18, 2024, took delivery of the truck May 26th, and finally received the tags August 17, 2024. This transaction to The buying experience started April 18, 2024, took delivery of the truck May 26th, and finally received the tags August 17, 2024. This transaction took 122 days to complete! Melissa's text messages are full of lies, from promising to fixing the seat to Tristan stating they were making the first payment due to delays. I would not buy from this dealership every again and would rate them a negative 100 star rating. I do not see how they stay in business, and I would never recommend them for anything. More

Took 6 months and 100s of phone calls to get the title and registration. 2 of these months, the trucks temporary registration was expired. I was lied to every step of the way. I was barely called or emailed back. I’ve purchased many vehicles in my life and this has to be the worst dealership on the planet. Let me not forget, I held the dealer tag they had to send me because they took so long to register the truck until I received my title and registration. They left a voice mail saying they would call the police for stealing their plate. If you want to spend your hard earned money to be treated like burden, this is the place to go! More
Just looked at a RAM Promaster 3500 Van price of the vehicle appreciated almost 3k in a week. Was told that if we wanted to buy it outright with out financing add another 2k. Is that even legal, definit vehicle appreciated almost 3k in a week. Was told that if we wanted to buy it outright with out financing add another 2k. Is that even legal, definitely immoral and unethical. More
