They tried to defraud us. My wife dropped off her Honda Pilot at the service dept. Her air conditioner wasn't blowing cold air right away when she turned it on. Sometimes it wo My wife dropped off her Honda Pilot at the service dept. Her air conditioner wasn't blowing cold air right away when she turned it on. Sometimes it would take 3 min sometimes 5 min before it would blow cold air. Once it turned on it was cold. They had the vehicle for a short time before contacting her. They told us they had performed a dye test for leaks that costs $250 and determined that she needed a new compressor, new condenser, and so on and so on. To the tune of $1950 worth of part and labor to fix the problem. I didn't think it was right for them to do a leak test on a system that was blowing cold air. I told her I felt we had been scammed and didn't need the test. So we took it to another dealer and the story was very different. The other dealer told us that the system was fine. There was a $24 relay that had been physically broken. I'm assuming this is why the air conditioner stopped working all together after we picked it up from Honda on the avenues. The other dealer charged us $100 to replace the relay, that had been physically broken, and recharge the system. The air conditioner works great. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO HONDA ON THE AVENUES. You've been warned. More
