first of it took them almost 2 weeks to get my car.i called them everyday and they said they will call me right back and never do so ill call back and they say they will have a answer tommorow. i repeat called them everyday and they said they will call me right back and never do so ill call back and they say they will have a answer tommorow. i repeated that for about two weeks. first reason that happen is the saleman filled out the loan app wrong so it took the bank forever to respond and i had to go in to redo it. second the car was ovr price about 1500 over value. the people there are very ignorant. also its alomst impossible to get something fixed if its under warranty. my problem with that is my headgasket is blown ( told by three other machanics ) so i took it right to honda. they looked at the car and said everythings fine and they see no oil on motor. thats a lie because i saw it with my own eyes. so since its under warranty they are giving me a run around. there has been to many time where i had a problem with them i cant list them. just do yourself a favor and dont go here More
I am pretty sure these folks engaged in criminal behavior. I went in my my used civic for their "free inspection". When I left they had shrpritzed fresh motor oil on the timing belt cover and a cou behavior. I went in my my used civic for their "free inspection". When I left they had shrpritzed fresh motor oil on the timing belt cover and a couple other places. They tried to con me into about $1000 of work. I am a backyard mechanic and had given the car a good look when I bought it from its adult, first-owner. No leaks were present. No spots on his driveway or in his garage, and no evidence of any recent cleaning of theses surfaces or car's underside. I was highly suspect of this dealer even before I went in to get this free inspection. Now I am thinking of contacting NJ's state Dept. of Community Affairs to see if there is some way to stop these crooks from preying on the unsuspecting. MY BIG TIPOFF ON THIS WAS THE FACT THAT THE CAR NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE, SO THE MOTOR OIL WAS DARK BROWN AND DIRTY. THE OIL THAT THEY APPLIED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENGINE WAS CLEAN, CLEAR AND FRESH. IT DRIZZLED ON MY DRIVEWAY FOR ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THEY HAD TOUCHED THE CAR. THEN THE DRIPPING STOPPED. THAT WOULD BE IN KEEPING WITH AN ATTEMPTED CON JOB. More
I went to the dealereship about 10 days ago looking for 2010 Civic LX-S. The one saleman who was taking care of me was very nice. I told him I have a internet price will you match it? He went to the manage 2010 Civic LX-S. The one saleman who was taking care of me was very nice. I told him I have a internet price will you match it? He went to the manager Marc and he said yes. They didn't have the color I want in stock. So they said they could get the car from another dealer. I went back to the dealer on Saturday 12/5 to see what was the totally cost of the car was? I was told by other salesman on the phone they don't trade cars on Saturdays so I said fine. When I got there the manager Marc said the car will be pick-up from the othere dealer to bring here. I told him I wasn't going to take the car home today. I didn't want to take my wife out in the pouring rain. I saw the contract for the car it was over $1,000 more they what we agree on. So the manager Marc said to me he had a light bill to paid? So he is a lair and I went to another dealer. They still have my deposit money better be getting it soon! More
I reall enjoyed this salesman in my purchase experience from his caring and knowledge. I was there a couple of times which told me they were not pushy about me getting into a car. The manager even gave me from his caring and knowledge. I was there a couple of times which told me they were not pushy about me getting into a car. When I arrived at Honda of Toms River, I was quickly greeted by Ralph. He seemed genuinely friendly and pleasant right away. He was not pushy at all, and asked many questions to find out what my needs greeted by Ralph. He seemed genuinely friendly and pleasant right away. He was not pushy at all, and asked many questions to find out what my needs really were. The best question that he asked me was " What is going to be the main use for this new vehicle?" He must have asked me ten or twelve differant questions, and finally decided that the Odyssey would be a better choice for me then the CRV, due to the fact I have 3 kids, all in carseats. That the odyssey offered more room for them. More
I recently decided to purchase a certified used Honda. This vehicle was going to be a gift for my daughter. Her first car ever, so safety was my main focus. After much research online, I finally found the This vehicle was going to be a gift for my daughter. Her first car ever, so safety was my main focus. After much research online, I finally found the perfect car for her at Honda of Toms River. After calling into their Internet department, I spoke with a young man named Mark Hunt. He took my information, confirmed the car was available, & made an appointment for us the next day. Upon arriving at the dealership, we were graciously greeted by Mr. Hunt. Although very nice, Mr. Hunt was not very knowledgeable. I requested someone with more product wisdom. I was turned over to the Used Car Manager, Anthony Puma. I was assured by the General Manager, Mark Stango, that Mr. Puma knows everything about every vehicle on the premises. The experience was quite different from that point. Mr. Puma communicated to me that the car I originally inquired about was not an appropriate vehicle for my daughter. He explained that the original vehicle was not equip with anti-lock brakes or side-curtain air-bags. He recommended up-grading to the next model. In addition to those features, he explained the up-graded model came equipped with vehicle stability assist, electronic braking distribution, and vehicle cylinder management. The last feature was increasing fuel economy. The only issue was this automobile was priced much higher than my original budget. Mr. Puma assured me that this would not be a problem; for they have a top-notch finance department. He verbally illustrated to me that by financing a small portion, I would be able to achieve the purchase of a vehicle that was previously thought, "out of my budget." He asked me, if I could really put a price on the safety of my daughter? Which of course, I answered, "No." In addition, he was able to up-grade the Honda Certified Warranty to 100,000 miles bumper to bumper. After finalizing the paperwork with Mr. Puma, he even took the time to call my insurance agent...add it to my policy...and even managed to lower my insurance rates by equipping my vehicle with window etching. Next, I was introduced to the Business Manager, Yasmine Watson. She then reiterated everything Mr. Puma previously stated. She even discounted the warranty and came in at a lower payment than Mr. Puma had quoted. Overall, this experience EXCEEDED my expectations. Not only am I confident in the automobile my daughter is now driving, but I feel financially secure with my choice. My ease, in large part, is due to Mr. Puma's expertise in all phases of this purchase. I have recommended and will continue to recommend this establishment. To top it all off, I received a coupon booklet worth $2000 towards future service, free of charge! More
This was my first time buying a used car from a dealership . I was a little intimidated buy the process . I went to all the dealerships up & down RT. 37 in Toms River . They all were extremely push dealership . I was a little intimidated buy the process . I went to all the dealerships up & down RT. 37 in Toms River . They all were extremely pushy . Stating that I had to buy today , going so far as to say that if I left the store , they wouldn't honer the price at a later date . This happened at every store except Honda of Toms River . Upon my arrival there i was immediately greeted by saleswoman & shown a few cars to choose from . I wasn't looking specifically for a Honda . They had a large selection of different makes & models to choose from which made it easier than going to all the different stores . I settled on a Toyota Camry . There was a Toyota dealership rite across the street that I hadn't stopped at yet , so I told the saleswoman that I wanted to make one more stop before deciding . She went to tell her manager what my intention were & then they both came back together . I thought to myself ,here we go again , more pressure . To my surprise , the manager Anthony said that he appreciated the opportunity to earn my business & thanked me for stopping by . He asked me why I didn't want to buy now & I told him that I wanted to be 100 % sure of my decision . He respected that & told me that he wouldn't sell the car till I returned even without a deposit !!! Are you kidding me ! After leaving their store I went to the Toyota dealership & was again treated like a dumb blond & not given any respect . I was back to Honda in about an hour to make my purchase . Upon returning Anthony had already had the saleswoman put the car in cleanup . I asked him how he could be so confident that I would return ? He stated that his confidence was based on his dealership's integrity . They really know how to treat people there . Anthony even tossed in a free gas card because traveled to so many dealership before arriving at his ! Class act from start to Finnish . More
I started my new car shopping back in August. My present Honda id almost 10 years old and I figured it was time to consider replacing it. My decision was influenced by the Summer clearance ads (Mr. Opportun Honda id almost 10 years old and I figured it was time to consider replacing it. My decision was influenced by the Summer clearance ads (Mr. Opportunity). As I work all week I headed for my local dealer on the last Saturday of August. I was shocked at the high pressure, and arrogance of TWO dealers that I visited...insisting I needed to "make a deal" immediately and my new purchase had to be wrapped up and off their lot by 5pm that day. I do not make rash last minute decisions, respond to the "heavy sell" and was really turned off. So I had stopped my search for the time being. I was visiting a friend in the Toms River area, told her about my experience when she suggested I contact Honda of Toms River. She said that several of her friends and neighbors had bought there and that they were pleased with their dealings there. I began my search thru the internet..I found them on a google search. I sent them a request for the 2009 Honda Civic EX. I was really surprised when I was contacted so quickly first by email from a Jenn Alio, then called by Michele (a salesperson). Michele was very friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. I did tell her about my previous experience and that I would not waste my time again. She offered to meet with me on her night off at the dealership and assured me I would not be dissapointed. Well i was not dissappointed, Michele was very professional, as were the Manager (Mark Stango) and the Finance woman, Yasmin). I ended up choosing a color they didn't have on their lot...but by the next night Michele called me, said it was in and we finalized my purchase the next day. They listened to what was important to me, did not rush me or force me to buy a car I didn't love 100%...which was a must for me because I will probably have this one for 10 years too. I am very happy I went to Honda of Toms River. More
DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP - THEY DO NOT STICK TO THEIR PRICES! THEY ARE KNOWN FOR CONSUMER RIP OFF AND FRAUD!! On Thursday August 20, 2009 My husband and I went into Honda of Toms River dealership. A PRICES! THEY ARE KNOWN FOR CONSUMER RIP OFF AND FRAUD!! On Thursday August 20, 2009 My husband and I went into Honda of Toms River dealership. After waiting 20 minutes to see someone we met a sales man Anthony Puma. After looking at two minivans we decided to sit down and talk about prices. We told him that we have two kids with one car and have been looking to buy a minivan for the past six months and didn’t want to waste time negotiating prices. He said he did the pricing and he could sell us the certified 2006 Honda Odyssey for $19,500 with the warranty to 100,000 miles on it. One of the main selling points was that it was certified because it had over 50,000 miles on it. I asked what the walking out the door price would be. He said with taxes and fees it’s roughly 10% added on. We said we would spend some time thinking about it and left. The next morning I went into the dealership to ask if he would take $19,000. He said he could ask the general manager. He came back and said $19,500 was the best he could do. I left and after discussing it my husband we decided we would buy it. Saturday morning we drove a half hour away with our 2 year old and 3 month old sons. Arriving at 9:15 am my husband went in and I waited in the car for 45 min with my two boys. Then I went in to see how things were going. My husband tells me that they are saying the car was serviced for $330 since we were there (on Friday?) and we need to pay that. He questioned what it was serviced for and Anthony couldn’t tell him. We said we weren’t going to pay that extra cost. We questioned what it was serviced for since we were buying it. He comes back and says oh it could be a back bill that just showed up on the computer. Still he could not tell us what it was serviced for. He says I will try to get it thru management without you paying for it. He comes back and says the general manager didn’t question it and that it would be fine. Now it’s 11:30 and we are still waiting to speak to Keith in the finance office. Anthony says “Oh in the meantime I can add the Honda to your car insurance while we wait.” As he is speaking with the women he says there is etching on the windows then he covers the phone and says “Oh that will save you a lot on car insurance, so when you see that fee that is what that is for”. When he is telling me this I am trying to calm my over tired 2 year old and thought okay I will question that FEE when we are in the finance office. Finally at 11:45 we go into the finance office. Keith has a white envelope with $26,000 written on it on the bottom crossed out. On the top he has written $24,000. Then he starts talking about how we can buy a warranty on the van for $660 having a walk out the door price of $24,660. I said excuse me but the car is a certified vehicle and it comes with the warranty and the price is $19,500 not $24,000. He tells me that the computer doesn’t show that and neither does the paper work. I said the van has stickers all over it showing the vehicle and you can ask Anthony. He leaves and Anthony comes back saying they took away the warranty when they lowered the price. Anthony was the one that made the price and said it came with the warranty. So we told him we weren’t paying it that he gave us that price that came with the warranty. He said he understood and left. Anthony comes back and says okay management will split the cost with you. You pay $330 and they will pay $330. I said you told me it comes with the warranty and gave me the price of $19,500 with roughly 10% in taxes and fees. Now you are saying $24,660 and we are not buying it for that price. Keith now comes back still talking about how we can buy this warranty. He crosses out the $24,000 and writes $23,660 and writes walk out price on the envelope. I said you guys said about 10% of 19,500 that is less than $2,000. That would mean the walk out price would be $21,500 with the warranty. Why is it $2,000 more? We went back and fourth. He couldn’t answer me, did not even try to show me the break down of the money. He goes to his manager and comes back. Writes $22,660 on the paper. I said that is still over a thousand dollars more than the price you gave me. He refused to answer me or to show me the break down costs. I said you have wasted over 3 hours of my time for nothing. If you can’t give me the Honda for price you said that we are leaving. And so we left. My husband went to the Toyota dealership across the street to buy a minvan from them. The sales man said that the Toms River of Honda formally Bob Ciasuli Mack Honda is always changing their name because of fraud. Bob Ciasulli is the owner of the company and 16 of his auto dealerships were sued by the state of New Jersey in 2001. He continues in auto fraud and trying to cheap consumers until this day. Buyers beware. More
