Unprofessional My friend and I went to Honda of Salem on Sat, 01/20/2018 after reading Google rating and reviews. We were both looking at Honda Fit parked outside of the dealership and then a salesman approached us all smiling "Hello My name is Justin, can I help you with anything?" For the record, this was the only polite sentence he said. He got us inside the dealership, asked basic questions to which my friend answered - as he was the one buying the car. The moment he came to knew we needed 1 month to buy his first car, he outright declined helping us and just left. It took me a minute to understand what just happened. He said and I quote "I would rather spend time with other customer who would buy the car than us!" We both felt it was extremely rude. He left us and brought us some brochures to read! We then said "We are here to test drive the car and not read brochures as we have read majority of the things on Honda's website" I told Justin being a Honda customer myself, I have never been treated like this before at any dealership. To which he responded, in his 11 years of experience, people will go to other dealership, check prices, check different cars, and then take time to decide. He then added "he doesn't want to spend time on it" he left us again this time to find somebody else to help." Internet/Sales representative Mr. Phil Phan (very nice guy) was coming in the door and he greeted us and asked if he could help us in anyway as we were standing near the door and no one was helping us. We were still appalled and trying to get out of the shock; and then Justin comes and asks Phil to help us out and leaves us! We had to start over again with all the basic questions that we had given to Justin. I insisted that I speak with the "Sales" manager and then we meet with Scott Johansen (later found out he is a finance manager not a Sales manager). We both narrated our bad experience to him and we requested him to get back to us on how this situation was handled. He said he will talk to Justin about this and get back. I added, "I would like to give you a chance to handle this internally, if we don't hear from you I will post my review" to which he said okay. While Mr. Phil Phan was busy helping us. I went to get some coffee, this is when Justin mocked me stretching both his hands wide smiling and said "Hey I sold a car!" At this time, I knew something was incredibly wrong. I reported this incident to Scott and this time he said he is not the sales manager but he will update his direct reporting manager and we both left the dealership. Till today 1/27/2018 we haven't heard back from them. It was very rude behavior from Justin and such racist actions shouldn't be encouraged/permitted in any working place. I later read 1 star Google reviews and there were several complaints made against Honda of Salem and majority of them were about employees being racists. I would like to see what actions management is taking in resolving this matter. This also seems to be a recurring one (if you read Google reviews posted from other customers) and proper actions should be taken to fix this immediately. More

I have no way of knowing how the actual service tech performs, but having Mauricio keep an eye on things for me, and explaining the outcomes, gave me every confidence that all is well now. More

Service Calling Department-Poor Service Tried to contact the Honda of Salem for over 4-6 hours in order to reach someone at the services department. Service Dept Robert Hellman has always been on top of things when I have called him to bring my Honda in to be fixed. His team found the problem and he called to Robert Hellman has always been on top of things when I have called him to bring my Honda in to be fixed. His team found the problem and he called to tell me what it was. It was fixed and he recommended that I have the oil change on the car which I did. I picked the car up and it has been running great since then. I always feel that Robert will be straight and honest with me and only recommend what needs to be done on my car so I trust his word. Thank you Robert for all your help in keeping my older Honda running!!! More
Change oils and steering wheels. I came for the oils changed but the service personnel found something wrong with my steering wheels and still under warranty. That's very helpful .
