Higher Prices and a Bogus Pricing Policy Honda of Hackettstown has a bogus pricing policy that they emailed me. It states, " At Honda of Hackettstown, we will not lose your business over pr Honda of Hackettstown has a bogus pricing policy that they emailed me. It states, " At Honda of Hackettstown, we will not lose your business over price." Because they told me this I sent them an "out the door" quote I received from a very near by competitor on a 2017 Honda CRV EX-L AWD. Not only would they not beat it, they wouldn't match it and they came in well over $1,000 more. My wife repeatedly mentioned their pricing policy and they didn't seem to care. Mike Vance was apparently the one providing the price but he wouldn't tell us why he wouldn't honor their own pricing policy. He pawned the delivery of the message off on another sales person named Mo. Mo just told us that the price was set by the manager (Mike presumably) so he couldn't do anything about it. So in conclusion their price is much higher than one of their nearby competitors. I don't really have a problem with that, but I do have a problem that they advertise that "At Honda of Hackettstown, we will not lose your business over price". They didn't even come close to their competitor's price for the exact same vehicle. As such they do lose your business over price! Update 1/1/17: The General Manager, Ryan Magid wanted me to call to discuss the my experience, so I did. I thought he might beat the price of a local competitor. Instead he told me that if he had to lose "1 out of 1000" deals over price then he would, essentially admitting that his pricing policy was bogus. He also tried to claim that the other dealers price wasn't legit (he was wrong). He also said he would relook the numbers and see what he could do. He said he would call back in about 20 minutes. He never called back. I confirmed that the other dealer's quote was legit. However they didn't have the color car we wanted in stock. I went to another local dealer who had the color in stock and they price matched without issue. So in short, we found not one, but two local dealers that provided much lower prices than Honda of Hackettstown. My return call to Honda of Hackettstown confirmed that my initial review was accurate. (Not sure why they wanted me to call them and I thought it was very unprofessional that Ryan didn't call back when he said he would. This just wasted a lot of my time unnecessarily.) More

The only problem I had, was that the behicle immediately needed an oil change and windshield wipers. Ino my opinion, those should have been done before the sale of the car. More

We had already been in touch with the dealership online and knew pretty well the prices they advertised. We met with Robert Nylund who turned out to be the nicest, most personable and understanding sales person imaginable! There was no high pressure at all and he really tried to find us the perfect car for our needs - with the right price! We ended up leasing a new Honda CR-V and couldn't be happier! Buying or leasing a car can be very stressful but with sales personnel like Robert Nylund and also Stephen Layton, who described the workings of our new car before we drove it home, it was a totally pleasant experience!
