I took my family to College Park Honda on April 16th to test drive a pre-owned Honda Pilot and negotiate a purchase of the Pilot with a trade-in of my car. After the salesman, Eddie, offered a low amount test drive a pre-owned Honda Pilot and negotiate a purchase of the Pilot with a trade-in of my car. After the salesman, Eddie, offered a low amount for my car, we left the dealership. Thereafter, in successive voicemail messages, Eddie and his internet sales manager, Reagan Harrison, increased the offer to a final amount of $20,000. The next day, Sunday, I called both Eddie and the dealership and agreed to come in on Monday to purchase the car. On Monday morning, I again called the dealership, and confirmed with Reagan that the offer of $20,000 for my car was acceptable and that I would come in after work at 6:00pm that day to purchase the Pilot. Reagan stated that the Pilot would be “all cleaned up and ready to go” for me. I made plans to leave work early and drive the hour to the car lot in rush hour traffic. On April 18th, I left work in DC to drive to College Park. At 5:30pm, en route to the dealership, a different manager called me to verify that I was coming in, and stated that two other people were interested in the Pilot. I confirmed that I was en route. Upon arrival shortly after 6:00pm, I learned that neither Eddie nor Reagan were present. I was directed to a salesman, and I explained that I was there to purchase the Pilot and had already agreed upon the trade-in amount with the internet sales manager. After several minutes, the salesman’s “boss” came over holding a stack of stapled documents with “$20,000 Trade In” written and circled on the top sheet. He stated that although my “request” had been for $20,000 they were offering about a thousand less. After I explained that I never requested any amount, but had accepted Reagan’s $20,000 offer, he returned to his office for several minutes. When he returned, he informed me that no one had ever told me they would pay $20,000. I explained that I had specifically verified that with Reagan before making the appointment, and that I would not have driven there otherwise. I asked him to call Reagan and that I would also do so. He said he would call Reagan and again returned to his office. I called and left a message on Reagan’s voicemail and waited for 15 minutes, watching another couple conducting a transaction. My new salesman then came over and told me that I should “make a better offer to [his] boss” or they will sell the Pilot to someone else “to make more money on it.” At first I thought he was using a crude sales tactic. After a few minutes, however, I realized he was completely serious. I got up and asked a salesman and the manager if this was true, that they were selling the Pilot to someone else while I waited for a response about my trade-in. They informed me that they had sold the Pilot to the couple seated near me and there was nothing I could do. When I protested that I was told that we were waiting for Raegon to confirm the trade-in offer, the manager said he had not spoken to Raegon and was not going to. When I noted that I had already agreed to purchase the Pilot and had driven there in rush hour traffic to do so, I was simply dismissed. After a few moments of awkward silence and staring, I had no choice but to leave. I called Reagan and left another message, detailing what had transpired. Neither Reagan nor Eddie has returned my calls to explain or apologize. I need to stress that each interaction with the manager was filled with hostility and rudeness towards me. It is now obvious that he never intended to honor the deal with me, but rather wanted me to leave so that he could sell the Pilot to the couple and make more money on that deal. In the process, I was blatantly lied to, was accused of fabricating the offer from Reagan, and was kept waiting under false pretenses while the Pilot was secretly sold to someone else. More
If I could give it no star, I would. When you think of sleazy, lying car salesperson, think College Park Honda. While we were in the process of deciding where to purchase a new Civic, we emailed some 14 sleazy, lying car salesperson, think College Park Honda. While we were in the process of deciding where to purchase a new Civic, we emailed some 14 dealers within the state of Maryland. College Park Honda (Harold) would not give us a price at all. He keep telling us that they would beat/match whatever best price we get no matter what. All we had to do was to bring that best out-the-door/on-the-road quote in and that would be it. Unfortunately, this was far from true. I very clearly stated in my email that I wanted an out-the-door price quote because I fully intended on paying in full with 'cash'. Due to this, I absolutely wanted to know the price before I walk in and yet, Harold would not give me a price quote at all even AFTER I sent him a pdf of the email from the other dealer. After I finally got him on the phone, he told me that his manager would not match the quote I have in-hand, which was fine. However, he then proceeded to tell me that I should STILL bring that quote in to the dealership so that we 'can' negotiate a HIGHER price. Does this make sense to anyone at all? I had a lower quoted OTD price, he couldn't match it and STILL tried to talk me into coming onto the lot to sell me a HIGHER price???? I KNEW this place was slimy right the start when it would not give me a quote. I guess that's how they do business, try to get you onto the lot and then they'll spring the typical sales tricks to up the price on you. Stay away. More

I was impressed with the friendliness and the determination of Mr. Okiya and Mr. Minard to find me a deal. I had visited several dealerships in my search for an automobile and College Park Honda determination of Mr. Okiya and Mr. Minard to find me a deal. I had visited several dealerships in my search for an automobile and College Park Honda was by far the best. They should be a model for other dealerships. The others can take lessons from them. I will recommend College Park to everyone I know who is looking for a car (used or new). They are champs as far as I am concerned. Sincerely, Aasim A. Khan More
I had an amazing experience! Pia, Aileen, and Samy all made it possible for me to purchase a Honda. Lisa looked out for the car in relation to my life with those extra things. I thought for sure I would made it possible for me to purchase a Honda. Lisa looked out for the car in relation to my life with those extra things. I thought for sure I would be lucky walking out with a used Honda but no, I walked out with a brand new Honda that fit right in with my budget and lifestyle. They worked with what I had and made it possible to have more than I thought and even imagined. I cannot say thank you enough to everyone who made this possible. I am not afraid to admit that before I drove away in my new Honda I was so touched by the experience that I cried . . .Again, thank you. More

For years we dealt with Rob Coates in the service deparment and had nothing but positive experiences. The past couple of years we have been dealing with Frank Davis and our experiences continue to be positive. He does everything in his power to make sure my family and I are taken care of. He is honest with all of us, and exemplifies customer service that exceeds standards. We trust him with all of our cars, and we wouldn't bring them anywhere else. We have dealth with other service rep's and everyone is welcoming and interested in helping us with whatever we need. The techs are friendly and good at their jobs. If something isn't right, they will gladly fix it. We have also had many good dealings with the sales department when we come in to purchase new vehicles. Both the car's and staff are super reliable. While I initially did not want a Honda, Civic Coupe, Mr. Minard was so helpful, persistent in helping me find a car that I am happy with, and so willing to please. I really love the way he worked out the s Minard was so helpful, persistent in helping me find a car that I am happy with, and so willing to please. I really love the way he worked out the sale that saved me $3000 on the car. The only thing I'm not too happy with is that I wanted my pay date to be April 15, 2011 instead of April 1, 2011. More
My wife and I had an excellent experience with the sales and financing department at College Park Honda January 5 and 6, 2011, especially Michael Greengold and Tharius Robinson, although we made our purchas and financing department at College Park Honda January 5 and 6, 2011, especially Michael Greengold and Tharius Robinson, although we made our purchase at another area Honda dealership where we received a friends and family discount. Had we completed our purchase at CP Honda I am certain the rating for our experience would be 5 stars. To be clear, we were first-time buyers so we were very impressionable. We were skeptical that our experience would be much different from the reviews since all the negative reviews were specific about the sales people. However, as the responses state how the dealership has changed since coming under new management in January 2010, I can attest that they - at least Mike and Tharius, and even sales managers Uday Gulati and JD - don't operate the same way they are accused of on consumer review sites. We were treated with the courteous, honest service CP Honda claims in their online ads. We were looking to buy a used CRV we saw on their site - lured by the Lifetime Warranty offered exclusively at CP Honda for new vehicles, more on this further down - shopping on a limited budget with a junker for a trade. Michael, who conscientiously took these into consideration after taking an Internet coupon offered on the site for our trade and seeing my credit score, offered us a "new" 2010 - undriven, zero miles, one model-year old. The experience with Michael could not have been better. The interest rate was guaranteed from America Honda, Inc. so there was no risk of losing the rate like some reviews claimed, and the Lifetime Warranty is just like it sounds, guaranteed by CP Honda for the life of the car, redeemable at any Honda dealership in the U.S. with a $100 fee every time you use it (small price to pay for major transmission/engine repairs which could happen if you're like us: looking to buy a car to drive for years), and Tharius makes all this clear so there are no surprises, providing the warranty in writing to look over during financing. The financing part comes last in the process, after dealing with sales, the test drive, etc. But once we sat down with Tharius to go over our budget and the cost the dealership was asking us to pay, he was extremely patient and considerate. He made the process transparent by turning his computer screen toward us so we could see the costs and how the financing would work. We saw it all: the sticker price, which they reduced appropriately; taxes and tag fees, the ProPak fee, our $500 trade-in value, our interest rate and financing amount, and our monthly payment amount. He took the time to show us how our monthly payments would change if we included the 5-year bumper-to-bumber warranty (which is separate from the Lifetime Warranty), put less money down, if we included/removed some of the dealer add-ons, etc. Seeing all of this as he saw it made the process so rewarding because it showed that he and CP Honda were trustworthy. We weren't ready to commit but gave them our word that we'd return to discuss this decision further since we needed to review the different payment amounts we were facing, so he saved the info on his computer and pulled it back up when we came back the next day. Such excellent customer service! Sure there are other sales people and financiers at this dealership but if you look to buy from CP Honda, hopefully Mike and Tharius will be who you deal with. More
I took my daughter's CRV in for what I thought was a simple Honda recall job on the ignition switch. I expected to be in and out of dealership in an hour. After waiting for 3 hours, the car was returne simple Honda recall job on the ignition switch. I expected to be in and out of dealership in an hour. After waiting for 3 hours, the car was returned to me only to drive off the lot and find that the steering column totally out of alignment. After driving a block I returned to the service dept because the steering wheel was in a 6 o'clock position while driving. After explaining to them what was happening, of course they claimed they did nothing out of the ordinary on the recall job. In any case after waiting another 2 hours, they told me I needed (and they had to order) to replace some parts costing some $1,200.00 and that was after the infamous manager's discount. Now after this expensive and untimely (Xmas eve) repair cost, the steering column is still not in the same position and the car is too dangerous too drive. Oh by the way, they did an alignment and that did not fix the problem. So here I am three weeks since the car was originally taken in for what I thought was a simple recall job and it is still not fixed. I've been told to bring it in tomorrow for them to look at it yet again. More than likely I will have it towed in. Now, my family and I have an internal wager on how much we will have to pay to have more exploratory service work performed at outrageous prices. If unsuccessful on tomorrow, I will seek out another Honda dealership who will at least perform some basic quality assurance work like test drive the car before returning it to the customer. At this point, I am quite frustrated, out of $1,200.00, and still no fix in site. Unfortunately, my daughter will not get a chance to drive her car while home for break. At this time, I cannot recommend this service department. More
