I have been a loyal customer for 5 yrs, and have recommended Honda of Greenbelt to a lot of people. What happened to me was disturbing and unethical. I’m beyond disappointed, and will only return if recommended Honda of Greenbelt to a lot of people. What happened to me was disturbing and unethical. I’m beyond disappointed, and will only return if an item I purchased is still under warranty. I went in for a sound coming from the back of my car when I braked. When I originally dropped off my car the sales associate David mentioned it could be my brakes, and I told him I had my brakes done the last time. I pulled out paperwork from my glove compartment, and he said don’t worry about it because it’s all in the computer system. He told me he would take care of me, that he has daughters, and would be fair. The David came back to me with $4k worth of services I needed to have done. Front and back brake/rotors, replace right wheel bearing, tension belt, battery, sparks plug, transmission flush, and brake fluid. I was gullible/trusting and approved the order. When I walked away he started clapping and called another sales associate over. I sat down and figured that he was happy he probably gets a commission. Something about the entire exchange didn’t sit well with me. I asked several ppl, and they told me to stop the order asap. When I called to have him stop the services, he told me they already replaced the battery and front brakes. How he did this in an hour, I don’t know, especially since he said my car would be an all day job. I told him to continue with the back brakes, since it’s all Honda certified, and will be from the same location. I paid almost $2k for those services. I leave the dealership, still disturbed by what happened and decided to check all of my documentation. Turns out I had my front brakes and rotors replaced in Jan, so they were under warranty. I went back and demanded my money, which I did receive $700. My previous work orders are in their system and he acted like they didn’t know. On my receipt of services, it said I requested a new battery which I did not. LIARS all the way around. My battery was probably fine, but I’ll never know. This morning, I went to another Honda location and explained what happened, including the breakdown and receipts. The guy said I got ripped off, but it's a lesson learned to always get a second opinion. I did need the belt tensioner and it's $300 cheaper at the other location. Then he said there's nothing wrong with my wheel bearing, which Greenbelt was trying to charge me $800. Also, that I didn't need spark plugs which Honda quoted for $450. Or a $200 transmission flush. And I had that fluid replaced in Jan as well. Totaled $2,450 that they could have gotten over on me, if I hadn’t stopped everything and reviewed my receipts. Breakdown: $700 front brakes and rotors, $300 extra for tension belt, $450 spark plugs, $200 transmission flush, and $800 wheel bearing. Absolutely ridiculous!!! I feel like an idiot for trusting the associate and not doing my due diligence. They lost a loyal customer and should be ashamed! More
