I never like dealing with car dealers and even brought a friend with me so he could make sure I wasn't getting ripped off by an aggressive salesman. It wasn't necessary once I was introduced to Fred Kaplan. He treated me with such a kind and courteous manner throughout the entire process. Fred remains calm and sincere in his efforts to get any customer the best deal they can get which is absolutely what he did with me. My experience with Fred has made me a permanent customer of Freehold Honda and i would most definitely refer anyone that is looking for a vehicle to go to Fred at Freehold Honda and you will leave with the same smile that I left with. He is a genuine person which shows in how he treats his customers and how he treated me. To leave a car dealership with a smile is an oddity and Fred's manner makes me look at my new car and smile. I will refer anyone I know to Fred at freehold Honda. Thanks Fred Diane Mountzouris More

BEWARE! I wish I could give a negative star for this place, but I'll start with the positive. The girl at the cashier's desk is really nice! The end. So, to b I wish I could give a negative star for this place, but I'll start with the positive. The girl at the cashier's desk is really nice! The end. So, to begin the horror story, about a month ago I came in to purchase a vehicle with an attractive internet price. After test driving the vehicle, the salesman came back with a invoice for about $4000 more than the advertised price. This included a $1000 LOYALTY FEE, $498.97 DOC FEE, around $500 "NON TAX FEE," approx $400-500 titling fee, $136.50 registration fee, around $1500+ sales tax (depending on what you buy obviously), and $398.69 for TOTAL LOSS PROTECTION. Sales tax, titling, & registration fees are non-negotiable. That wasn't the issue. I specifically stated that I would not pay for any of their miscellaneous fees or insurances. I was flat out lied to and told that TOTAL LOSS PROTECTION is a dealer fee and that I cannot purchase the vehicle without it. THIS IS A BLATANT LIE! READ THE CONTRACT! TLP IS OPTIONAL! So, I finally got to the shady finance guy, Mike, who added on $3040 in insurances without my knowledge, and to be honest, I just signed the sales contract because I was tired after being there for hours. The following Monday, after reading through each insurance contract, I realized that they all stated that I had an UNCONDITIONAL RIGHT TO CANCEL, so I came back and told Mike I wanted to cancel them. He tried to lie and say I couldn't, but when I read the contract to him, he got pissed and said he was going to rewrite my sales contract and give me almost double the interest rate (so the dealer can make back the difference in interest instead). I told him that it was fine and I would just refinance the loan. Mike LIED AGAIN and told me that I couldn't refinance before 3 months. I did some Googling and realized he said that because he doesn't get a kickback from the loan if i refi before 90 days. So what did I do? Refinance the next day at 2.99%. :) Oh, and let's not forget the sales manager, Lorenzo. When I asked about the TOTAL LOSS PROTECTION that I explicitly stated that I didn't want, he lied as well and said it was a "dealer fee" and refused to cancel it or reimburse me my $398.69. He then said he could write it out of the contract, but he'd increase the price of the vehicle by $400. I told him I'd never sign that contract. Disgusting. Turns out, when I called Fortegra (the company that provides TLP), they don't even have any record of my vehicle being covered. They never sent in the paperwork. So the dealership just stole $400 from me plus interest for an insurance I don't even have. Thus, I have no choice but to file a formal complaint against this UNETHICAL behavior with the BBB, State Attorney General, contact Patrick Dibre, and Honda directly and mention your names, Mike and Lorenzo. I'll leave the salesman's name out of it because I do think he's just a nice guy trying to do his job. It's unfortunate lying to customers is encouraged from management. I'll give you a word of advice from one salesperson to another though: Customer loyalty and growth in your book of business is contingent upon honesty and transparency. Simple as that. That includes a conversation detailing specific costs, whether or not certain fees are required, and reviewing the cost of credit in compliance with Regulation Z. That is what earns a referral. We all know the greatest compliment is a referral, but this dealership will certainly not be getting one from me. Steer clear, folks. More
