My salesman made floor mats part of the negotiations. During the negotiations, he gave me a printout of what the car would cost, and on the printout was a charge of approximately $300 for the mats. A charge for the mats shouldn't have been on that printout, because floor mats are included in the MSRP. Then the salesman says "I'll throw in the mats at no charge if you agree to buy the car" (at a certain price). Not charging me for an item that I had already paid for in the MSRP was no concession at all on the part of the salesman. Definitely unethical conduct on the part of the salesman. In a subsequent telephone conversation (after I had purchased the car), the sales manager tells me that my salesman was referring to rubber mats which fit over the cloth mats, and not the cloth mats themselves. Another bold faced lie. So if the salesman was referring to rubber mats, why didn't I get them, as promised????? My car came with the usual cloth floor mats included in the MSRP, and no rubber mats. With such an unscrupulous sales manager, how can you expect the salesmen to be honest??? More
