Everything about Honda-on-Grand was. We visited on two different occasions with Luther and Sebastian, and both were very nice, attentive, knowledgable, and not pushy in the. This is definitely a contrast to other dealerships we visited while shopping. Most had poor quality cars (dirty interior, bad tires, etc…) and pushy, uninformed sales people. We ended up getting a very good deal (okay, an incredible deal!) on a 2004 Pilot. It was in immaculate condition – top to bottom, inside and out. The only mechanical defect was some tire noise that I noticed on the test drive. They ended up putting on new factory tires once we closed the deal. This car drives like a dream!!! I definitely recommend Honda-on-Grand and Luther in particular. Thanks guys!!! More
They suck. I bought a new Honda Pilot 07 from them. In 2 days I found out that it as a transmission leak. When I took to Honda Lisle, they informed me that all the fluids are low and it doesn't seem anyone days I found out that it as a transmission leak. When I took to Honda Lisle, they informed me that all the fluids are low and it doesn't seem anyone did an inspection on it before the delivery. When I called Grand, the manager was rude and said to bring it in. Calling service told me that they need 3-4 hours to examine it. I went to Honda Lisle service, they did a great job. It turns out there was a need to rubber seal. It is been running great since and no leaks. Grand Honda Suck More
I could not say enough good things about Bob Swanson, my sales associate at Honda on Grand in Elmhurst. It is so rare today to find someone who actually does his job, and does it so well. Bob's prior experience in auto service is a big help in discussing the vehicles. He shoots straight and gave me a fair deal online, right off the bat. He treated me respectfully and did not waste my time. Finance was equally straight forward and efficient. I spent about 15 minutes signing paperwork (I did not finance through them, but gave them a check via Eloan) and the process went very smoothly. Bob was exceptionally thorough with explaining all the features of the CRV. I am happy I decided to buy from Bob. He followed up after the sale to make sure I didn't have any more questions, and said he would call in another 10 days just to make sure I was still pleased. I am fully convinced that 99% (if not 100%) of the positive reviews for Grand Honda are bogus. They are SO bad, that anyone writing positively about them surely are lackies or the sales and managemen positive reviews for Grand Honda are bogus. Finance manager tho tried to sneak some BS warranty stuff without giving me much details. Caught it and kicked it out of the deal. Overall good service, but did not have to interact with the big bosses etc...since the deal was already 90% done via the internet... Hope this helps... More
This was the only dealer we visited. They were nice but, when we wanted to go outside to talk, our salesman said he'd go and leave us to talk at his desk. We wanted to go home and think about it but, felt pressured to stay and make a deal. We bought our Accord SE at a good price (not the best price). I feel we could have done better at another dealer. We were told other dealers couldn't beat their price. I've done some research and people have gotten much better deals. Don't make our mistake if you want to think about it get out before it's too late. They say they are a soft sell dealership. I don't know about that. Our plan was to get their best price and then go to the next dealership and see what their best price was..., until we were sure we had found the best price. If we didn't have a couple Internet quotes with us, we would not have been able to negotiate a decent price. More

I went to this dealership to get a price to see how it compared to a price I'd received from another dealership. I spoke to a sales manager (I think his name was David, gray hair, older gentleman) and he compared to a price I'd received from another dealership. He said he could "beat the price" given to me by the other dealer but he would not give me a hard dollar amount. I left the dealership, never to return. I purchased my Accord at another dealership. I was shopping. That's why I went to different dealerships -- to compare prices. Since Honda on Grand did not want to participate in my shopping they did not end up participating in my purchase. I will never return to this dealership. More
I, like many others, was lured by a great price in the newpaper. $16,895 for a 2007 civic EX! When I called, they told me it had hail damage. Fine, at least they told me up front. However, when I inquired how much a NON hailed damage equivalent would cost, "Jack" (phantom sales manager) told me $800 more. I showed up that night and was informed "Jack" screwed up and really the car cost $1,500 more. (I should have left then, in hindsight) I did end up getting a pretty good price ($18,100) after many hours of hard negotiating. The real fun began when they ran my credit and told me I had a "limited" credit history and they would have to call the banks the next day to set up my loan. HA! My "limited" credit history includes a mortgage, one paid off car loan, zero late payments, and oh yeah a credit score of over 50 points higher than what they told me! I faxed them my credit report (at my expense) the next day and was set up with an average rate. Sidenotes: The salesguy was clueless about the features of the car, referred to me as a "mini-deal" to my face, forced me to drive out there 3 days in a row - over 50 miles - one way - from my house!! DO NOT buy a vehicle from this dealership. It seems they will pull out every trick in the book to RIP YOU OFF. DO NOT give them a deposit at any point!! That was my biggest mistake. Don't worry about them selling the car if you don't put a deposit down. What I've learned: Paying a few hundred dollars extra for a car is worth it if you feel comfortable with the sales guys and can trust them. If you negotiate as hard as I did, sure you'll save a couple $ up front, but TRUST ME, you'll pay for it in the end! More
I went in to look at used Odyssey's. I test drove one but for the condition it was in, the price was way too high. I saw another one that looked great and asked the sales person for the price. He asked to look at my trade in and I made the mistake of giving him my keys to get in and check the odometer. When he got out, he held on to my keys so I asked him for my keys back so I could lock my car. He used the remote to lock it himself but clearly didn't want to give my keys back. I held my hand out for them and after a couple of seconds he gave in and handed them over. This is a classic tactic they use to keep you from leaving if you get fed up. Keep in mind that he has yet to get me the price of the van (again, I made the mistake of giving him my info without getting the price first). I asked again about the price and he went off into another office to look up the price. I am generally a patient person, but after he tried to hold my keys my patience was already worn thin. He left me sitting for 15 minutes - I did look at the clock - and when it reached 15 minutes I finally had it. I went into the office he was in and told him I need to leave to get back to work. He said they were having trouble finding the price of the van but that he would call me as soon as he found it. That call never came, even after I contacted management in sales to convey my experience there. How can a dealership not have the price of a vehicle on their lot readily available to the salespeople? What type of management/owners allow their people to use sales tactics like these? I understand they need to make a profit, but honesty likely would have gotten me into that van. Instead I will never consider buying from them. Of course, as in some of the other reviews on here, I was lured into their store by incredible prices listed on their website as well as on cars.com. Naturally the vehicles had already been sold and all that were left were vans being sold at or above blue book prices. I ended up buying a car at Oakbrook Toyota in Westmont - they didn't play games and had me in and out in an hour. More
