Quoted $1200 to replace a power steering pump on a 2004 Honda of Annapolis quoted $1200 to replace a power steering pump on a 2004 Accord. Pump was whining after the first cold day of the year. Going in, I Honda of Annapolis quoted $1200 to replace a power steering pump on a 2004 Accord. Pump was whining after the first cold day of the year. Going in, I was aware there was a service bulletin published by Honda noting that there is an o-ring on the pump that is a known weak point in cold weather - it let’s in a small amount of air causing a whine. Once quoted $1200, I declined service. The replacement (new style) o-ring is red, while the old one is black. My car had a black ring in it still. Service bulletin called for a new ring ($9) and 0.3 hrs of labor. I replaced myself for $16 - a new ring, some fluid, one 10mm wrench and 10 mins. The dealer never mentioned the bulletin, the old style ring still in place, or proposed this fix as a troubleshooting attempt before going forth with a $1200 fix. Techs that “inspected” the car for a quote left the power steering reservoir hanging in the engine bay against the accessory drive belt (which would have been fun to catch once the belt wore through the tank) and charged $100+ to conclude that the pump was bad when, in fact, the VERY common o-ring failure had occurred. When I challenged the diagnostic fee for the conclusion that was given, the manager told me with a straight face that “there were mouths to feed” in the Service department - after providing a quote for unnecessary work equivalent to 2.5% of the average American annual salary. I suppose the mouth of the inept, middle aged woman of a customer that I am doesn’t matter. Ineptitude, or dishonesty? Who knows, but I can guess. Either way, I have no kind words for the folks at Honda of Annapolis. More
I went to the Annapolis Honda dealer looking to purchase a vehicle. The salesman was very unprofessional. He was giving incorrect information about the vehicle during the entire test drive and was attempt a vehicle. The salesman was very unprofessional. In the age of no haggle prices and up front prices for the consumer to do a comparison shopping his actions where I called for since all I requested was simply for comparison against other vehicles. To say the least I am going to take my business elsewhere. I I didn’t receive similar treatment from Subaru or Toyota dealers in Annapolis. I have to say the best experience was at the Subaru dealer with Toyota being professional easily being second. If you want a Honda vehicle, I heard that Bowie provides much better service for purchasing and getting your vehicle repaired. Hopefully management changes in Annapolis. If you want the past horror stories with dealing with a dealership go to Annapolis. More

After leaving another dealership in the area we decided to give Annapolis Honda a chance to earn our business. I contacted the dealership by phone and spoke to Anne Marie. I asked her could she confirm a particular CPO White Civic EX was still available? She seemed eager and willing to do everything she could, even walk outside to verify the car was on the lot. I really appreciated her willing to go the extra step before we drove 30 miles to the dealership. I felt this was going to be a much better experience than what we were currently dealing with at another local Honda dealer. We arrived at the dealership and Anne Marie was waiting for us. She informed us the car was being brought up and we could get processed to take a test drive. Anne Marie is a Pro. She was very knowledgeable about the car we chose. She was able to answer every question my wife had and made us both feel comfortable throughout the whole process. I really appreciate her professionalism and how she made my wife and I feel real comfortable in making this purchase. Thank you Anne Marie! More
