The service advisor friendly told me that it will take hours for install and recommanded me to rental a vehicle. So, i decide to rent a civic for $32.64 from their rental department. Ben introduce me a civic, he has showed me the true spirt of Honda Auto Center. He nicely explain the rental aggreement, and genteelly asked me if i driven a civc before. He showed me all the functionality of the civic, and shook my hand for thanking my business. After that experience, I felt I was respected by employees at Honda Auto Center, and I would like to do business with them in the future. More
DON'T BUY A USED CAR HERE UNLESS YOU TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC BEFORE BUYING IT...DON'T BELIEVE THEY'VE CHECKED IT!

I bought a used Acura TL '99 at this Honda dealer six months ago. Within two da MECHANIC BEFORE BUYING IT...DON'T BELIEVE THEY'VE CHECKED IT!

I bought a used Acura TL '99 at this Honda dealer six months ago. Within two days, had to bring the car back to discover it needed a new transmission - but I had to take it to the Acura dealership, fortunately it was under ext. warranty for tranmission. BUT it was a real pain to have to take it across town, and get a Ford Escort for a week (Not cool for a realtor).

After about a week, I got my Acura but the dealership couldn't start the car without a jump start. So back to the Honda dealership where they agreed to put in a new battery...thanks to the Acura service manager saying my battery was toast, all crudded over.

A day or so after that the car started shaking at the wheel, so I took it back to the Honda dealershipagain (I only had a 30 day warranty). They ended up machining the front roters, lubed calipers, replaced two front tires and replaced brak pads. They did give me a nice rental for 5 days, which made me happy.

Why did I buy this car!?! I had purchased an Acura two-door coupe 3 years prior - used, and never had a problem! So I didn't take enough time to get a mechanic to check it out this time - MISTAKE.

I did take the car AFTER THE FACT to the mechanic I trust and he said the underbelly of the car was filthy, much more than the 48k on the speedometer. He didn't make accusations, but things really weren't adding up.

Found out on VIN search that the car was bought at auction in Florida, and for the previous 18 mos or so, it had sat in their lot (or someone's lot) according to when the FL dealer bought the car/speedometer reading, and when the dealer sold it at acution/speedometer reading.

My mechanic also pointed out that the car was on its second set of tires, they were not the OE tires. The 2nd set of tires already had approx. 35-45k on them...so again the speedometer at 49k didn't jive.

The Honda Auto Center of Bellevue gave reasons for all this and said it is pretty difficult to adjust a digital speedometer.

Meanwhile other little problems cropped up...gas input door would not close...underbelly front right panet started dragging under the car. The holes were too stretched to re-fashion to the screws, so it is being held up by plastic ties.

Fast-forward to this week... the car started vibrating after about 10 minutes every time I drove it. Seems that the calipers have frozen, there is brake dust on the wheels. My mechanic suggested I go back to the dealership, and be "aggressive" and have them deal with this or trade in.

So today I spent 4 hours trying to find a used car on their lot, and negotiate a deal that I'd be happy with...and I'm too exhausted to type any more about all that. Suffice to say, I was NOT happy with the deal they offered me...then they said the mileage on the car I wanted, its sticker was wrong 25k, and really much lower so I should accept their deal..more surprises.

I said no, and left...in my Acura with the brakes ready to go....

I didn't have to buy another car from them, but I thought, in light of what happened, I should start there I can't drive this car in confidence!

What's going on here?
