Made an appointment over the phone for routine minder codes on car for my Acura. Got to my appointment and told the service person the reason for my visit: minder appears when I check the car menu. For m codes on car for my Acura. Got to my appointment and told the service person the reason for my visit: minder appears when I check the car menu. For me, this is a routine process. If a minder is there I go get it taken care of like getting an oil change. Like if I see 15% oil change, I will have someone look at the car then instead of waiting for alerts to appear on the dashboard when I start the car. So, thinking of this minder similar to the oil change situation, I scheduled the appointment to have someone check. I was trying to tell the service representative all of this and he was trying to tell me I didn’t need to come in until the lights came up on the dashboard and asked why I would come in. I said I don’t know because I’m not versed in cars but if the car is saying something I’ll take it in. I also mentioned that maybe the minder comes on because of other reasons like a squeak when I break. This I was unsure of but it was not the reason for my visit. Yet this was the reason he put down when I picked up my car. He drove the car to determine I needed new tires. This is not what I wanted. I wanted someone to look at the minders to see if it was accurate and to reset it if it was not. Since they checked the oil levels and such and determined they were adequate, despite the minder being on, I was expecting to pay a nominal fee. I was not expecting to pay $130 for someone to tell me I need new tires for a reason I did not indicate for my visit. More
