Recommended unneeded service I took my vehicle (2006 Tacoma 4WD) for service, as the check engine light came on. After they checked it out, the tech reported that I had an additi I took my vehicle (2006 Tacoma 4WD) for service, as the check engine light came on. After they checked it out, the tech reported that I had an additional problem. The truck has 140,000+ miles on it and the gear oils (transmission, transfer case, front and rear diffs), according to the tech, had never been changed. The "mechanic" said that it was clear that the drain plugs had never been touched. In fact, I changed all the fluids myself 2 months ago. I almost stripped the rear diff plug trying to get it off, so it clearly would have looked abused in an honest inspection. As a result, I had no service done there, and will not return. I cannot trust them. More
