Polite and nice, but not impressed by knowledge base I've taken my car to this dealership a total of 3 times for routine maintenance. My overall impression is that the work has been done well and the advisors are polite, very friendly and courteous (but not very knowledgeable). That being said, be prepared for long wait times if you decide to wait with your car. I've had experience with a total of 3 Toyota dealerships (NY, NJ) and 4 Nissan dealerships (NY, RI, CT) and here the wait times are significantly longer for comparable service. I have not been to another Toyota dealership in the CT area though, so I'm not sure how they compare locally. My one major issue, which came up especially during my last visit, is that at least the advisors I've dealt with are not very knowledgeable. I changed the tires of our Prius and wanted tires that would give me comparable fuel economy, but be a bit more durable than the tires the car originally came with (only lasted ~30k miles). I was told that I could get the ~$110 tires or the ~$140 tires. The advisor had to call the tire department when I asked to also be told the specs on the tires. She scribbled notes on the side of a pad of paper and had to call them again and again as I'd ask a question about speed rating, how many miles each model is supposed to last, etc. In the end even she couldn't figure out which of her notes went with each model tire. If I go to a generic tire place I expect to have to do homework before hand and have a specific idea which tires I want. If I go to a dealership that claims to know my make and model car I expect the advisor to be able to tell me why they recommend these particular tires and what their specs are. Overall I have no complaints about the quality of the performed work, but I suggest you go home and you do your own research before you agree to change X or Y at the suggestion of the advisor. In my experience, I haven't received a good in-depth explanation of why something should be done or why then, or why with that particular part (in the case of the tires). More

So much better than the Toyota dealer I bought the car from! The problem is being addressed and not just sloughed off as was done by the selling dealer. Corporate Toyota instructed me to try Hoffman. Overall money saving experience I had finally decided to bring my HIghlander in for a repair on an item that had been not functioning since I purchased it in October of last year and I had finally decided to bring my HIghlander in for a repair on an item that had been not functioning since I purchased it in October of last year and figured while I was there get an oil change. The motor on my rear windshield wiper had to be changed due to a malfunction of the arm movement and they charged me for the new blade, as soon as I said I had never been able to use the wiper at all since I picked it up, they took the charge off of the bill immediately with no argument or discussion , I was impressed. As for the oil change, they said they were happy to do it but since it was synthetic oil that I was a half year/6,000 miles early and that I did not need to do it; again, i was impressed. At first they thought they would be able to get me in and out and when they realized it would take longer to get the motor for the rear wipe they immediately gave me a loaner. Overall a wonderful experience and cost me nothing. More
