Mr LaPointe, My concern is that as a customer, I was not treated fairly. Here is my argument. I scheduled our Honda Accord hybrid for service at 90,000 miles (odometer showed 92,528 miles). The dashboard indicator showed “Service A123”. According to our owner’s manual, A123 includes: Replace engine oil, Rotate tires, Replace air cleaner element, replace dust and pollen filter Replace transmission fluid. I read these to TJ Graham and he agreed that that was the service to be completed. There was a time when Hoffman’s representatives provided the customer with a list of the services to be done on a paper that the customer would sign BEFORE services were begun. I was not given nor asked to sign such a contract. The final service record includes a charge of $173 for brake fluid exchange and under #3 it is noted the “customer requests to rotate tires only”. Neither was included and explained on a contract BEFORE service commenced. I was given a summary bill with surprises and not given an opportunity to know in detail what was to be done. The customer has the right to accept or reject service recommendations. The service representative is obliged to explain yet the customer retains the right to reject what is offered. I would like to address this in person.
