Great Deal on a 2016 Accord, but I contacted 5 Honda dealerships in the Hartford area via the internet. I spoke with three dealerships and visited two. In all honesty, it was Wendy La I contacted 5 Honda dealerships in the Hartford area via the internet. I spoke with three dealerships and visited two. In all honesty, it was Wendy Lara, Hoffman's business development person who really sold me the car. Wendy was refreshingly honest and followed through with my questions. She listened to my concerns and went to Brian Singer to see if she could get me a better deal. If it wasn't for Wendy, I would not have bought my Accord from Hoffman. There was a lot of inconsistencies from the Honda dealerships. For example, Hoffman's David Biolo told me that the powertrain was covered under the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. Another dealership in Hartford told me the powertrain was covered under the 5 year/60,000 mile by Honda - which is correct. This information is on Honda's web site. Another misconception is VIN ETCHING, which is printed on most dealership invoices. Invoices don't state that this fee is OPTIONAL. (Buyer Beware!) I opted out of the $249 charge, which varies dealer by dealer. Since I paid cash for my car and had a bank check to close the deal, I wasn't convinced by the business manager (aka, salesman #4), that I NEEDED vin etching. I was privy to this ploy. When I said NO, I don't want it. He promptly announced "We'll give it to you for free!" Hmmm. The etching was already on the vehicle. I don't think they wanted to remove it. Lastly, the extended warranty. Another sales pitch by the business manager. He showed me the costs. When I told him I put less than 10K miles a year on my car, he told me he'd cover the car for 10 years. He did some calculations and presented his new figures. A few minutes later he showed me a pre-printed piece of paper that listed the costs of the different extended warranties. Alas! The new figures were $230 lower than the cost he originally showed me. When I questioned him, he said it was CT tax that made his original figure higher. Really? CT sales tax is 6.35%. A $200 plus "tax" on a $1800 fee? Do the math. So the next morning I get a call from Brian Singer saying I had to come back into Hoffman as soon as possible. Why? They screwed up the paperwork and listed another auto as the Accord I purchased. In all fairness, they comped me a future detail for my trouble. That was worth my time to drive there and sign new paperwork, get new plates. Would I go back to Hoffman or recommend them? Yes. But do your homework and go through the internet first. That way, you'll hopefully get Wendy. Wendy deserved the commission on my new Accord. More

The price was fair, staff was professional, facility was clean, price haggling was done over the phone which I liked, so when I came in the deal was secured and just paperwork was required. Service was OK. Service was OK--not great but not awful. The people are friendly. However, I felt I was there to have service sold to me regardless of whether or not Service was OK--not great but not awful. The people are friendly. I have been going there for years and I must say something has changed and that is too bad. Hoffman Honda is now run-of-the-mill and I can go anywhere for that. More
