Oversold routine maintenance Up to the scheduled 30,000 mile servicing I was very satisfied with Hoffman Ford's service and sales department. At this milestone, the professional customer service rep attempted to and probably did oversell what repairs my 2015 Escape required. Besides the usual oil change and inspections, he brought up other fluid changes including transmission and brake fluids. Brian also recommended changing the air and cabin filters. Somewhat knowledgeable, I was surprised by the suggested changing of those fluids at this early mileage interval. The filters were left at 'let's inspect and see'. Since I was waiting for the oil change and inspections, Brian came out to tell me that both the air filter and cabin filter needed replacing - he did not show me the dirty parts. I gave approval to replace those filters. Afterward I check suggested maintenance and found that normally air filters should be checked and changed at 60,000 miles and cabin filters at 30,000 miles. This upsell took my $50 routine visit to over $150 - after I requested a 10% discount. I should have checked the suggested maintenance schedule at home and not trusted this employee and representative of Hoffman Ford. More
Long Wait, Incompetent Service I made an appointment for my brand new 2016 Edge in for its first oil change and tire rotation. In addition, the left rear door gasket was flapping in I made an appointment for my brand new 2016 Edge in for its first oil change and tire rotation. In addition, the left rear door gasket was flapping in the breeze and needed to be fixed. Upon arrival, the service associate had no record of my request to have the gasket fixed. I then waited an HOUR AND A HALF (remember - I had an APPOINTMENT) for them to complete my oil change and tire rotation, and for the technician to say he couldn't find anything wrong with the gasket. Now, my 10 year old, who sits on that side of the car, has repeatedly noticed it was unattached. So the sales associate went over to the vehicle, took one look, and said "please have a seat while I verbally berate the service technician." She was steamed, and so was I. I will NOT be bringing my vehicle to Hoffman for its future service needs. If a service technician is either too lazy or incompetent to notice an obvious issue that literally a 10 year-old child noticed, I don't have any trust that they will accurately diagnose and correct future undoubtedly more complex issues. Inexperienced, uninformed and disrespectful of my time I bought a previous car from Hoffman, and even though it was not the Ford I would be driving, I found them to be arrogant and unhelpful in 1998, when I bought a previous car from Hoffman, and even though it was not the Ford I would be driving, I found them to be arrogant and unhelpful in 1998, when my husband and I bought an escort from them. I went in to test drive the CMax, because they are right around the corner from me. I had no intention of buying. Looked at the Escape and wanted a hybrid. While I was sitting with my salesperson, I spotted the Fusion Energi, a plug in hybrid. I loved it. I went back to test drive it a few days later, and MADE AN APPOINTMENT. Got a phone call from the salesperson asking when I was coming in. Told him, when I did drive the car, that I wanted Navigation, which he seemed to think we could add. (Could not.) This was a 2014 car. The manager said let's see what else we have for leftovers--and found the one I bought. I bought a 40K car for 30K. It was a good deal. I could not have gotten this car anywhere else. Or I would have. As usual, Hoffman impressed me the same way they did in 98. They had a complete disrespect for my time. Other than my first walk-in moment, I made appointments. The battery wasn't charged (on a plug-in hybrid) which meant I couldn't evaluate the mileage or performance.) I was supposed to be there a half hour before the finance appointment to test drive the other car of my choice and I cooled my heels for about 40 minutes. Then the finance guy left. When he finally came back.... well see for yourself: I was also contacted by their finance department and told I would get 1.9 financing, and when I went to ink those papers, it was 2.49. THEY CALLED ME. The finance guy denies it, but someone called ME. If I were smarter I should have walked out. I just loved the car so much. The finance guy was a jerk. He implied I was wrong about the phone call from his department. I should have walked out at that moment, but I did love the car. More
Helpful & Knowledgeable Staff I was looking for a Mustang and noticed a nice used one on Hoffmans page. I stopped in at lunchtime and was greeted at the door by Corey Stahl. he was friendly and not pushy. i also had the chance to sit with the General manager Billy Genereux who was also helpful and explained everything. I would recommend Hoffman and see Corey & Billy for any needs as they will do what is right for the customer. More

Everyone there was curteous and efficient. I drove my car into the garage early in the morning and they took my car in for service. They had me wait in the dealership and had fresh coffee there I drove my car into the garage early in the morning and they took my car in for service. They had me wait in the dealership and had fresh coffee there while I watched TV in the waiting room. I was taken by shuttle to work in Hartford. They called to tell me that my car was ready around noon that day. The shuttle picked me up at my workplace and drove me back to the dealership. I then presented a gift card the dealership had given me and was pleasantly surprised with the price I paid for an oil change and filter. My car was outside waiting for me and had been cleaned inside and out. Fantastic service. More

Only issue I could say was scheduling via phone was complicated and when I talked with a person not the machine, he seemed very flustered. This was my third and last time I was calling to attempt to schedule, the previous 2 calls (using the phone number on the windshield reminder sticker) I never got a person. One time there was no answer at all, and the other I was dropped after selecting from the first menu. More
