2012 A4 Turbo & Oil Consumption Issues Service team was friendly, responded quickly. Dealership is easy to deal with. Nice environment. However, they quoted $3,700 to replace the turbo. When I told them I would take the car elsewhere (local reputable garage came in at $2,400), they said that they could sharpen their pencil and strip out some of the items. Why didn't the tech call out those "extra" items when giving the original quote? Seems extremely misleading. Separately, I am disgusted with Audi. the car is 5 years old and I need $4k in repairs. When I searched for A4 turbo issues and oil consumption issues (adding oil every few weeks), it was clear that these issues are widespread and that there are service bulletins out on these issues. I was actually considering upgrading to an S6. However, if Audi can't stand behind a 5 year old product with 77k miles on it, then I will never buy another Audi again. Absolutely ridiculous. My 11 year Nissan Maxima with 150k miles had a better service record. Now looking at a new Jaguar XF, Mercedes AMG or Lexus. Goodbye Audi!!! UPDATE... I have now received 2 identical standard form responses. Not that I expected any, but 2 identical canned responses is actually worse than none. More
