Called several days ahead of time to schedule an appointment and indicated the car I was interested in. Upon arriving, the sales person did not appear to be interested in selling the car, pointing out how long it has been there and overall delaying the process, all while pushing different cars on me. After an hour and not making any progress, I was asked if they could have a couple days to research pricing further on the car that I was interested in. I was asked if I wanted to leave a deposit, although it did not seem needed as the car had sat for so long already, and I wasn't ready to lock into it since they didn't seem to know what was going on with the price. The next day, I noticed they posted this exact car on sale on their website, although we didn't receive a call from the sales person - and upon calling the dealer, learned that the car was sold already. I found it interesting that they couldn't figure out pricing the night before, but were able to figure out they could post the car on sale the next day, and take the time to update the website, and sell the car, but never reach out to me at all, not even as a courtesy that it had sold. I ended up purchasing the same car package at a different dealer a couple weeks later, which was a much more pleasant experience. I would not waste my time at Hodges ever again, and would recommend others to look elsewhere as well. More

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I did not come in intending to buy a car and I hate pushy sales people. Not only were they happy to hear I was just looking, they were more than happy to just talk and make sure I knew what I was looking for in a car. When we finally got around to my budget, they worked with me to help find something that I could afford and would enjoy driving. At no point was there a pressure to buy a car, let alone from them. I ended up purchasing a 2014 Subaru Forster. If you are looking for a friendly, clean, reliable dealer, there are no other options. Not only do they treat you like a friend, the treat you with respect. I will be purchasing any future vehicles from Hodges Subaru and I will recommend them to everyone I know. More

It was a smooth and seamless transaction from first stepping in the door to driving away in my new Outback. Excellent service! They fully explained the entire process. Plus it was the best price around for the car AND my trade. All of the options were fully explained prior to leaving the dealership and when another question came about a few days after the sale they got back to me immediately. I will not hesitate to recommend this dealership to friends, family and maybe a stranger or two. More
Arrogant Management - The Customer is Always Wrong I visited this dealership to have an exhaust pipe replaced. Immediately following my car developed a very loud rattle in the undercarriage....loud enough to turn heads in winter in other cars with windows rolled up. Management refused to even have a technician listen to the car in the parking lot unless I agreed to a full hour of labor. Even after I personally examined the undercarriage and observed an obvious loose heat shield. About a year later, with the car in for service for another issue, immediately after arriving a service writer commented "Sounds like a loose heat shield". Tightening 4 loose bolts completely resolved the issue. Hodges management (one of the owners), by phone, offered no apology but rather emphatically stated that their "highly trained" technicians never make mistakes and that the only thing that could make such a noise was a bad driveshaft, to the tune of several thousand dollars. However, the simple tightening of the bolts they originally failed to secure properly resolved the issue (at no cost). A final insult, when I informed the owner that I was unhappy with the way they handled this, I was told I would be removed from their "promotional database" and would receive no more mailings...i.e. no more coupons. Arrogance. Ask yourself one question. Why is this dealership, after decades in business, still a tiny 2 car showroom business...and that's after recently "expanding"? I wonder. Visit them. Maybe their "highly trained" technicians can help you replace...well, something....as long as it's really expensive, anyway. Finally, I must add that I absolutely love me Subaru, but I'll never visit this dealer again, even though hey are literally 2 miles from my home. More
Multiple negative experiences Bought a car there and there were a lot of unexpected fees when it came time to sign the dotted line. The salesman was very dismissive of my concerns Bought a car there and there were a lot of unexpected fees when it came time to sign the dotted line. The salesman was very dismissive of my concerns and frustrations. Returned years later to purchase another car (from a different salesman this time) and the car they had put on hold for me was sold to someone else. They then tried to sell me another car that was about 5k more in price. Both experiences felt shady, and gave me the impression that they were not very organized. I like the idea of working with a dealershipt that specialized in Subarus, and that were close to my home, but I'm going somewhere less convenient next time. More
Subaru uses oil I was concerned when I brought my Subaru in for i't 1st oil change Jan 2011. They informed me I was down 2 quarts of oil. I couldn't believe that be I was concerned when I brought my Subaru in for i't 1st oil change Jan 2011. They informed me I was down 2 quarts of oil. I couldn't believe that because I have NEVER had a car that used oil. I was told some Subaru's use 1 qt of oil every 1000 miles and that is exactly what my car does and has for almost 5 years. Now that I have over 60K miles and they are going to fix the oil consumption problem I am not a candidate because it was never documented that is was using oil. How do I know what they put on the documentation??? So. This car is going to be paid off this week and I KNOW I won't buy another one. I was pretty much told by the service manager today, that I was not truthful, They claim they keep very good records, and if my car was down 2 qts it would have been noted and it wasn't; so now I am just out of luck and stuck with the oil consumption and probably oil ring leaks in the future...adding $8.00 to transportation costs every 1000 miles gets expensive. Every 3 tanks of gas, I must add a qt of oil. This is wrong Hodges Subaru! You need to stand by your customers, not accuse them of lying. I faithfully drove all the way from Port Huron to Hodges Subaru from Nov 2010-Jan 2013. But the cost of gas and time forced me to find a closer service place lately. I guess if I had still come there the past 2 years they would have miraculously remembered our conversation back in Jan 2011. right.... More

The salesman spent time with us, was able to answer all our questions and the follow up by the dealership was great. Our car came in several weeks early and when we picked it up, our salesman, John Gawaran spent allot of time making sure we know how everything worked as well as did a follow up email after. I would recommend Hodges without any hesitation and I love my new Outback! More
