Frustrating Experience at Hilton Head Honda I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at Hilton Head Honda while trying to purchase a car for my teenage daughter. After calling to inquire about an Accord, I was assured that an appointment was set and that the keys would be held until my arrival the following afternoon. However, while I was en route—driving 90 minutes—I received a text simply stating, “Accord sold.” Not only did I not receive a call or any prior notification about the car being sold, but there was also no follow-up to confirm if I was still coming in as discussed. When I communicated with the salesperson, Tim Balch about the situation, I was met with a lack of empathy. Sadly, his response that “If the car sold, it was not meant to be” felt dismissive and unprofessional. The situation escalated when the General Manager, Ryan Walline reached out to apologize after a mutual party contacted him on my behalf. He asked, “Let me make this right?” and expressed a genuine desire to regain my business. Encouraged by his words, my daughter and I decided to head back to the dealership. Upon our arrival, Mr. Walline presented us with a replacement vehicle that was indeed nicer and more appealing, which momentarily relieved my daughter’s disappointment. However, the “happy ending” was short-lived. After an hour, the General Manager returned with a CARFAX and a buyer's order that was $5,000 more than the original price we had discussed. He made no effort to negotiate or find a middle ground, which was incredibly frustrating, especially after the initial letdown. To have my daughter experience disappointment not once, but twice in such a short period was unacceptable. Poor customer service and judgment on the General Manager's part overshadowed any genuine intentions he may have had. I cannot recommend Hilton Head Honda based on this experience. More
