INADEQUATE COLD RESPONSE!!!!! In late April of 2020, when were mostly shut down b/c of the COVID-19, my car suddenly needed servicing. The message on Hillside Toyota's website said 'SEND AN EMAIL and someone will get back to you shortly. We have someone checking the email frequently during the day.' I got an ''immediate response'' to my email, two days later!!! And THIS I swear to you readers, was their response: 'We are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Someone will get back to you when we reopen' THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAS HILLSIDE TOYOTA'S RESPONSE. {: (( {: (( {: (( {: (( I wrote back, "Well thank you for telling me the obvious. I know that you are closed due to the virus. What interim plans do you have in place for your customers? Do you have a plan B, like a referral to another repair service; another dealership that's open? SOMETHING!!!! Are YOUR customers supposed to just sit and twiddle our thumbs while we wait for you to ''get back to us?'' Did you not make alternative plans for your customers?!?!?!?!?!? Common-sense would dictate that you have one. Are vehicles supposed to automatically behave well until this pandemic is over' I was [surprisingly] disappointed with the cold, matter-of-fact response from Hillside Toyota's management, because I've been a repeat Hillside Toyota customer for several years. And am usually pleased with the guys there. Side note: I had my car serviced by Star Toyota (Bayside, Queens), the SAME DAY that I called them. We did almost all of the transaction by phone and email due to the corona virus situation, but working with Mike over the phone was great and he delivered the vehicle to our apartment when we finalized our decision. The staff also took precautions like disinfecting the vehicle first and Mike had appropriate safety gear. Best of all, the financing was very straight forward and no hidden fees at all. My experience was great and with much better service than I was expecting! More
