I dropped off my car for a state inspection at 7:45 AM, but at 12:15 PM, I received a call from service advisor Chris Khedaroo simply stating that my car was ready with no other comments. When I went to pick up my car at 5:00 PM, I was told that it did not pass the inspection. I expected the advisor to inform me about any issues and offer potential solutions while my car was still at the dealership. According to the receipt, the actual diagnostic was done at 9:15 AM, but the service center showed no willingness to address the issue on the same day. It was a complete waste of my time to have to return to the dealership. Speaking with the manager didn't help either; all they said was I would need to come back again to fix the problem. Very disappointing service overall. More
I will never go back again. I bought 3 Honda's from this dealership and kept servicing my cars here for over 25 years and there is NO APPRECIATION for loyalty. Took my car in for a recall and they didn't want to release my car unless I paid over $2,000 for service that they broke. THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT A REPEAT LOYAL CUSTOMER? They have all new mechanics that don't know how to service a Honda and they take short cuts for LAZINESS. My car reeked of gas for months, they broke the fuel gauge, the filters and the fuel tank and wanted me to pay to have it fixed. And how the Manager dealt with the issues, "I don't smell nothing." Even when I came back in with estimates from another dealership. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. YOU LOST THE BEST CUSTOMER YOU VER HAD, A LONG WITH MY REFERRALS. This is the dealership of "I don't know anything." More

Took my vehicle to get fixed. They fixed the part but it’s wasn’t done right and had to take my vehicle back again and it still didn’t get fixed, only to but another part. Was misinformed on how to properly have my vehicle ready for a recall. Took my car in also for a recall for it to not be done because of misinformation on Hondas end. This dealership has developed poor communication recently. Have been going here for years. Did not know Honda stopped taking Car Shield. There was no signage, no notification, nothing. When I asked when this was instituted, he said the first of the year. As a customer I think a notice, or signage should at least be in place. He then said to me I should have told him at drop off as though it were my fault. He should have indicated at drop off especially as I walked in he said, "You take good care of your car what could be the problem?" I said, raggedy NYC streets. I finally get a call of all the problems and I say ok I have Car Shield and it is at that moment hours after drop off that I find out Honda doesn't take Car Shield anymore; as I listed above. So I spend $247 plus there and then have to get Car Shield to find another Service place and I have to spend for another diagnostic plus. I'm no J..A.. nor am I illiterate. I understand and comprehend English. If I were a man I probably would have been in the boys club with all the info. It is totally disgusting to be treated as an after thought. I have been going here for several years and now all of a sudden there is no full disclosure. Am I now forced to go to Valley Stream Honda to get an honest diagnostic? I went there after 3 days and was told the break job done at Hillside that I had done previous to the recent visit, the pads [still good], but the rotors were not {Service indicated the rotors didn't seem to have been apart of that job 60,000 mi check]. A 12 year old car with 62,000 miles is not being abused and is being maintained by the dealer I shouldn't have misconceptions from my regular service station. Hillside changed that. I am really in a quandary. I don't think this survey means anything to Honda and I would be surprised if anything came out of my response. M. Whittle More
I like the service but they always overcharge you on the labor. Every time I have had a service done, they charge $100 more for labor than the parts itself. And they round up the hour for labor. So if they take 15 minutes, 30 minutes OR 45 minutes repairing your car, they charge you for the full hour. Plus they take 2 to 3 hours just for an oil change. I have had my car serviced regularly to keep it running like new. However, the last time I spoke with the manager. They do not have any customer service skills. You would think they value the business after the thousands of dollars I have spent there. It’s ok. I will be taking my business elsewhere since they have so many other customers that they can over charge. More

I wish I can say I had a good experience since I have been a loyal customer of Hillside Honda for over 20 years. I could not believe this was happening. I brought my car in because I was called in for t been a loyal customer of Hillside Honda for over 20 years. I could not believe this was happening. I brought my car in because I was called in for the recall on my car. I dropped everything and made sure I took off and took my special needs nephew to DayHab on the day and time they wanted. Bu they did not want to finish my car and gave me every excuse. Not my fault. I even called mid day to ask when was my car was going to be finished. Nothing, I didn't stay and harass them I left the car and waited patiently at home. But when they told me my car was not going to be finished just come back tomorrow. Unacceptable. I need my car for work. I am my Autistic nephews transportation to and from DayHab, Supplemental and Sports. I can't just leave my car and show up the next day. I don't have a spare car. I don't have money for ubers or rentals. I don't have Honda care? I make plans and plan accordingly. How do you tell someone whom is Autistic and Special Needs there is a change in your normal routine because I don't have a car to take you where your namally going? You can't because they will hold on to it and argue until they can't argue anymore and then bring it up again. Hillside Honda is doing the work, you know how long it takes to do the work, you are making the schedule to fit the amount of work to be done. Don't put the customer in a position to where we have to defend ourselves because if it was happening to you it would be questioned as well. Don't assume we have spare cars or family around to help. We have to go to work just like you are and I cooperated with you I need for this to be reciprocated. That was a very uncomfortable position to put me in because I have to plan. And I plan carefully because someone depends on me and I am all that he has. And since I believe it was a rush job my car has been reeking of gas. Now what? Smelling that for days cannot be healthy. I wasn't even warned about the smell to prepare myself. Information can go a long way if you give it. Now I'm going to think about if I'm going to come back or not. More
