They don't play games with you like the big dealerships in DFW. Like over selling things you don't need. in DFW. Like over selling things you don't need. More
I'm writing this review with my mom who purchased a car from Hillsboro Ford. We'll start from the beginning. My mom(80 yrs old) was going to help my nephew(19 yrs old) get on his feet and buy him a car from Hillsboro Ford. We'll start from the beginning. My mom(80 yrs old) was going to help my nephew(19 yrs old) get on his feet and buy him a car(shes a recently made widow on social security). She went to the Ford Dealer in Hillsboro instead of a low tier car lot with the assumption of getting a decent car because she didnt want to ask one of her sons to take time off work to go with them car hunting. Multiple faults on her part. Yet it's what they did. Shortly after purchasing(lil over $6k) a Ford Fiesta from Hillsboro Ford( about 8 weeks ago), the car had a few minor glitches here n there, gas gauge randomly wouldn't read etc. Then a few weeks ago the car quit cranking. Mom called me(a diesel mechanic) and let me know the rundown. Today was the first day me and a brother could make it out to look it over.(6/15/24) Upon opening the hood we immediately noticed chewed wires and other parts. We also noticed that all the chew marks were completely greyed over and 0 rodent droppings anywhere, indicating that NONE were recent. Peeling off some old electrical tape on a small harness going to the intake exposed more chewed wires. There was electrical tape wrapped around alot of the "important wires". My mom(80) and nephew(19) know nothing about cars and aren't savvy enough to have taped some of the wires and besides the tape was aged as were all the chew marks, along with them stating they hadn't looked at it nor has anyone else looked at it prior to us. Went to the Ford Dealer to ask how they could sell a car in that condition instead of sending it to auction. A dude, Micah Meazell, name per his card, who told us he was a manager basically summed it up in this sentence.(HIS OWN WORDS) "Not everyone can go out and buy a 50k f150 so we offer vehicles at all price points to accommodate just about anyone. Buying a used car as is has its risks." Which is basically like saying they will sell autos with insanely terrible issues for the sake of offering a person with limited income and knowledge a car, regardless of whether it be safe and dependable or not. Know that if you buy a used car from Hillsboro Ford you best have your walking shoes on because the days of a FORD DEALER being better than a low tier car lot are long gone. To me, regardless the price point, Ford Dealers have always had an advantage over most low tier car lots because in the past they would have sent a car in that condition to auction where it would have been bought and sold by a low tier car lot. 6k+ at this Ford Dealer guarantees you the same odds as a 2k- car at your local low tier car lot. When I write a review I am a believer in it stating the facts as they are/were, followed by an opinion. The conversation at the dealer was longer but him saying "that" really summed up the entirety of it. Thank You, A.C. Sidenote: At the end of the day we got the car running "for now" but whats been seen can't be unseen. We'll take care of our mom, but have lost complete faith in Ford's Dealers. In the "battle of brands" I have always been a Ford guy but this issue contradicts everything I've ever thought. More
