After starting the day out at CarrSubaru my wife and I were very hesitant about the whole process. I was looking to buy my first new car and had already encountered the dreaded pushy and overbearing sales were very hesitant about the whole process. I was looking to buy my first new car and had already encountered the dreaded pushy and overbearing salesman. RJ and the entire staff at Herzog Meier were fantastic though. We had first stopped off at their Volkswagen dealership and when they didn't have what I was looking for the sales rep(Coco) walked us across the street and left us in the very capable hands of RJ. What a 100% different experience than at Carr. RJ was extremely knowledgeable with all of the Mazda and Mitsubishi line-up. Something I can't say for the previous staff at Carr. Maybe they were but they decided to give me zero information on the cars. I was here to look at the Mazda3 5 door and by the time RJ was done with the test drive I knew everything there was to possibly know about the car. Not once did I feel any pressure to buy the car either. I wanted a manual and they didn't have any on the lot but there was one in Salem at another dealership they could get. We needed to think about it so we said we would be back. Once again, no pressure to buy. We came back the next day and RJ and Patrick took care of us. We didn't have to go sit in some small room so they could trap me in. They gave us all of the information we asked for. They were never hesitant and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of or lied to. It was Sunday so they couldn't get me my car until Monday. That had to be the worst part of the whole experience. Having to wait was killing me but I would gladly do it again for that same experience. I would recommend RJ and the staff at Herzog-Meier to family, friends and strangers on the street. I would have recommended them even if I didn't buy a car from them. Thanks guys More
A very non-confrontational, professional, yet casual environment to conduct the business of buying a used automobile in. I recently had my car in for service. It had a problem with starting. Unfortunately, it took 4 different trips to your shop in order to get the problem fixed (fingers crossed that it is actually fixed th with starting. Unfortunately, it took 4 different trips to your shop in order to get the problem fixed (fingers crossed that it is actually fixed this time:!) Apparently the problem was a tough one to diagnosis and it seems the part that really needed fixing did not get replaced until the 4th try. This was definitely quite frustrating for me as the customer, especially in the area of cost, as I wonder how many parts that got replaced and I paid for were really a waste of my time and money. It was also frustrating to my life in general - who has time to take their car in to the shop 4 times in one month? However, I do want to say thank you for the free labor and rental car they gave me during the process of "re-fixing" my car. The main reason I write however, is to HIGHLIGHT the EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE I received from Sean Dennis while this whole ordeal was taking place. I have to say that it was HE that made this experience go from what could have been super negative, stressful and annoying, to something that was not fun, but at the same time, pleasant, understandable and manageable. From the start Sean was the perfect combination of professional yet personable with me. He was very pleasant to talk with on the phone and did a great job at keeping me up to date with what was going on with my car. Each time he had to explain the new diagnosis or thoughts behind the problem with my car he did so patently and in a way I could understand. He was always apologetic for the fact it couldn't be going faster or cheaper. It made me understand that they really were doing the very best they could with the tools they had to fix my car. One evening he even took the time to call after hours to fill me in as I was unavailable during the day and wanted to know what had been achieved with the work that day. I can honestly say I have never had as pleasant of an experience with a car technician (not sure if this is the correct terminology for Sean...) as I have with Sean. Because of him, I have gained trust in Herzog Meier Volkswagon dealership service and if in fact my car is truly fixed this time I will be back for any future problems I incur. Everybody in the sales office was awesome. Welcoming, funny, and having a good time. I had a horrible time at Auto Town with my last Mazda purchase (7 hours of inattentive customer service and pressure funny, and having a good time. We came by on our first visit and met John Kim. He was quick to find out what we were looking for and got us behind the wheel for a drive. Normally I would have expected us to be pulled in to talk some numbers for the hard sell, but John pleasantly said if we were interested that he would be glad to talk to us more about buying the car. It was truly a no pressure approach. John was good about addressing both myself and my wife which shows me a lot more respect than some car dealers have. I would highly recommend John as a salesmen and the dealership on making the sales experience quick and pleasurable. More
