My search for a new car became narrowed down to a Mazda as it was the only car I could identify in its size category that offered advanced safety features I was looking for. Initially I was undecided bet as it was the only car I could identify in its size category that offered advanced safety features I was looking for. Initially I was undecided between a Subaru, a brand I had owned and trusted, and a Mazda. In addition to a back-up camera, I specifically wanted a blind spot monitor, which only Mazda offered among car manufacturers I considered. I was fortunate that RJ Florestan was the available sales agent at Herzog-Meier, as he understood right away how to focus his knowledge and information on aspects of the car that made a difference to me (unlike another dealership where the salesperson, seeing a female, predetermined that style, color and seat covering must be my highest priority). RJ took the time to educate me rather than just to make a sale, and pointed out many aspects of modern auto design engineering that factored into safety and control. When I finally was ready to zero in on a particular Mazda, I was torn between the i Grand Touring and the top of the line C3. The latter has even more safety features I would have liked, but greater cost by some $4000 made it unreasonable. RJ reassured me that the car I selected had all the essentials I needed. Two days after my purchase, I was feeling very frustrated by my inability to retain explanations RJ had given me. In particular, I found the manual for the navigation system unreadable and hard to follow in any event. I took the car back to H-M, with a sinking feeling I had made a wrong choice. RJ patiently answered every question and went through all the settings in the Nav system again. Clearly, any number of the settings required much more sophisticated understanding that I could have possibly gleaned from that out-of-date, poorly printed, inadequate manual. So, in a last step, responding to my request, RJ went on line to the official Mazda site, and with great skill at navigating the site, was able to find and send me links to on-line videos which I think will help me learn the system. Frankly, if RJ had not been my salesperson, I think I would have been dissatisfied, as no one else appeared to me to be equally knowledgeable. I believe now I will be a happy Mazda car owner. Time will tell! (I have downgraded my rating on overall experience at H-M, as I felt the "finance" person who I had to meet with in order to "close the deal" represented the prototype of a sleazy car dealer. That part of the process took way more time than it should have. Since I was paying cash, I was unprepared to be confronted with a new set of add-ons (extended warranty, etc.) which I had no time to review or think about. On the positive side, however, the showroom personnel were courteous and attentive.) I think H-M could work on little amenities better. I could see smudges on the Nav screen, but was given no info as to how best to take them off. I had to ask. HM could have included a $1.00 lens cloth. The key is big and awkward. A keychain that fits the key would have been nice....little things that make the dealer experience more personal. More

Unlike many dealerships and sales people I have dealt with in my many car buying experiences I didn't feel pressured, overwhelmed, or hounded into making a decision. His product knowledge was absolutely exceptional I learned many things about the vehicle including safety features that I didn't find out when doing research on my own. I went into the dealership thinking this would be just the other dealerships that I have visited in the past. I was surprised and very pleased to find nothing could have been further from the truth. I have referred family and friends and they've had experiences similar to mine and were very pleased! I will continue to recommend people I know. I feel that I was well informed ahead of time about the work that was going to be done - before it was actually completed. Doug Smith, the assistant service manager, kept me in the loop every step of the way. Just as in the past, Doug was extremely professional and courteous. I have always been treated very well here. (Doug and Allan are terrific!) My 10 year old car looked great when I picked it up. It had been cleaned - per Doug's request. Thank you! More
Recently, my car needed some maintenance service as well as repair. As always, Douglas Smith, the service manager was quite helpful. I appreciated his helpful attitude professional behavior. My car was washed and the interior vacuumed after the repair. That is the meaning of good service. More
Just came home with my new Mazda CX5 today. It's too soon to rate the car but I can rate the people I worked with at the dealership. They all get an "A." Pleasant, courteous, professional and personable each and everyone. My husband was with me for "moral support" but I did my own negotiating. Did I get a great price? I don't know but I was treated with respect throughout the whole transaction. The car I wanted was not available locally so Mike, the sales manager, found "my car" out of town, Justin, my salesman, picked it up and had it ready for me several hours later. All-in-all, it was a pleasant shopping experience. More
I heart DOUGLAS & ALLAN! They are rock stars! They take amazing care of me, making me feel special and like I'm their only customer. My rear wiper came off in a car wash, so I called Douglas; he got m take amazing care of me, making me feel special and like I'm their only customer.
