I went there to buy a new top of the line mazda. The sales person I had dealt with online wasn't able to make our appointment. I made a good deal though another salesperson who had to go back and forth sales person I had dealt with online wasn't able to make our appointment. I made a good deal though another salesperson who had to go back and forth with manager, who I didn't meet, in an empty showroom. After deal was made I went home and waited for information on the amount owed, vin, etc, and then got emails suggesting that it wasn't clear which car I had put a deposit on. I had asked for roof rail to be added and was told it would take 3 days.. after poor communication, I decided to cancel the deal a day after being there... Herzog didn't want to refund my $500 and in the end after protracted discussion only refunded me $360, charging me service for adding the roof rail that (a) I never signed on an offer for, and (b) I was told had already been added even though I cancelled well before I was told it would be added.. Poor show.. Glad I didn't purchase there. I bought at Gladstone instead. More
So disappointing. I had found a used Mazda I was interested in, was told a price was the absolute lowest they'd go for it. While I was working with my Credit Union on financing, they literally poste interested in, was told a price was the absolute lowest they'd go for it. While I was working with my Credit Union on financing, they literally posted an even lower price on their website, undercutting me. I called to speak with the sales mgr. (Since my salesperson was out of the office by the time I noticed). Of course, he was, "on the phone". I thought their dealerships were different. Sales person was great, but a bit shady an operation in my opinion. More
Horrible. I rarely write reviews but the horrible and shady experience detailed below demanded I share. Recently, I was in the market for an XC90. As an Adidas I rarely write reviews but the horrible and shady experience detailed below demanded I share. Recently, I was in the market for an XC90. As an Adidas employee we receive a corporate discount and it’s a recommended dealer. I found a special online that was better than our discount so I headed for the dealership. A Nice man helps right away. I let him know I’m interested in the XC90 special for my wife. He has a couple of vehicles that will match. I test drive it gives the thumbs up. Let’s work out the numbers. This is where the shady behavior start. They take my vehicle for assessment to calculate the trade in value. They tell me they go by KBB. I know the trade in value because 2 days earlier, BMW gave me a quote. My Kbb value trade came in at one price, but strangely Volvo stated they can only give me 3k below the kbb trade in value. Hmmmm. I ask why and he gives me an answer in which I state “ that makes zero since”. He says he’s going to go back and get an explanation. The answer was due to “market sales value. KBB says one thing but their system shows something different ”. Well why use KBB? Break in action What they didn’t know is I used to work at a dealership in undergrad as a summer job. This is BS for 2 reasons. When you trade in a vehicle, the dealer has two options. Sell the vehicle from their dealership or put it through a dealer auction where another dealership will buy it to resell. Today, there are several consumer friendly tools like truecar, cars.com etc that show what a car has been sold for in the last 3 months. Long story short, the average was $4500 above the trade in value the calculated on KBB. Meaning whether they resold my trade in on their site or Mannheim dealer auction, they would have exceeded the trade in value. Also, you might state $300-$500 in variation. But $3000? More context, my exact model sold 3 days before with more miles for $5600 more than the KBB trade-in value. After this I say no thank you and leave the dealership. The next day I get a text message claiming they can now honor the deal. I’m skeptical but after several back and forths, I agree to bring in my wife in. Maybe they made a mistake I thought. Doesn’t matter as long as I can capitalize on the special. I bring my wife and two kids under two in for a test drive. We put the car seat for the test drive and by the end, my wife says she likes it. I tell him it’s already been in an hour so I’ll drop the kids and wife off and come back. I ask him to have the paperwork ready. I drive the Half hour and drop the kids and wife off for lunch and nap and drive a half hour back. I get there and I’m ready to sign and he says “Im so sorry. I made a mistake. Unfortunately I can’t honor this deal. I quoted you the wrong car. These are the actually numbers (which is way more expensive). Hmmmm. Needless to say, I will be filing a complaint with our corporate benefits team, BBB, and review sites like these. I know it’s custom for them to make up some statement discussing how “this is not the standard we.” Twice they lied and did not commit to what was promised… Good thing I have it all documented on text message, email and.. Very disappointed. Not something I would expect from Volvo. More

The process began last March culminating with delivery to us on 11/21/19. Yes, OSD is time consuming. You have to get in line early on Volvo's production schedule. The $$ savings on sticker price is significant, at least it was for us! Admittedly the wait for delivery was long but worth it in the end. My wife decided to opt out of the factory tour and delivery, (not available now), instead spending two weeks in Denmark, Sweden and Norway on an exclusive personalized privately guided tour. One of my son's is a world traveler including this region. He planned and executed an all inclusive first class tour. Kris Alexander the HM Sales Manager coordinated all during the process and made herself available to us whenever we had a question or concern. No complaints here! David Andres Volvo Service Manager took charge of delivery prep and answered many questions. He also made sure purchased accessories arrived with the car. Great guy, So we have no complaints! Sorry others may not have had a similar experience. More
Poor New Car Delivery Just wanted one thing on the first brand new car purchase in seven years, the window sticker. "Sorry, we do not have it". Why is this a problem after Just wanted one thing on the first brand new car purchase in seven years, the window sticker. "Sorry, we do not have it". Why is this a problem after picking the vehicle up on delivery while it is still being detailed? This was NOT the salesperson's fault, but the dealerships process for new car delivery. More
CPO Vehicle: Problems w/ Vehicle & Service I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from this dealer. During the test drive, the vehicle had a significant squeak sound coming from the rear. Th I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from this dealer. During the test drive, the vehicle had a significant squeak sound coming from the rear. The salesman said they would find and fix the squeak if I purchased the vehicle (they later said the insulation around the spare tire was loose, and that they fixed that). I was sold on the vehicle having a comprehensive 160-point inspection. Within one week of owning and driving the vehicle, the squeak sound from the rear still existed, and the brakes had a significant squeaking sound as well. I contacted the salesman 5 days after purchasing the vehicle, and he informed me to setup a service appointment with the dealership. I had to make a service appointment for over a month out because the service department didn’t have any loaner vehicles, and because of my own travel schedule. The service department then told me the rear squeaking sound was because the spoiler is loose, as a bolt had come out, and it was loose in the lift gate. I then received a $1,248.42 estimate to fix the spoiler and squeaky brakes. I then asked why these items were not found and disclosed during the initial CPO sales inspection. They said there were not totally certain, but that most likely they just weren’t noticed during the inspection. I wish they had been more transparent, and provided me with these items DURING the sales negotiation process. My father was a General Manager of a Toyota Dealership in Washington State, and I know first-hand that this is not the experience someone should receive. I would not recommend this dealership for that reason. --- Updated 9/19/19: -We just received our first hard rain of the season, and the rear lift gate leaks. There is standing water on the cargo mat in the mornings, and water flows in while driving. I am having to schedule another service appointment. More

Of course, we didn't end up buying from them even the first time, the reasons are obvious ~ their unethical business model. I was interested to see/test drive a vehicle this time that had still not arrived in their shop. In the morning of the day, spoke with the salesperson and fixed on the time for my visit. He texted me the details and confirmed my appointment. A few hours later while I was heading to their shop, someone else called me and informed that the car was already sold. I reached the shop in the next fifteen minutes and was told the same and that they couldn't do anything!! It didn't matter even though confirmed/promised/texted to show me the car. Note I was going to be the first one to look at it as I was a serious buyer. All they cared was money. They got it from someone else and so they automatically ignored me. Such is their arrogance or you may call ignorance!! They lost my business as well as all others whom I told about this double-faced business model. They are very unethical and have no value for their own words. More

Multiple test drives, different exploration of options available, and questions answered! Since I had not purchased anything new in over 20 years, I only had not so memorable bad experiences with other dealerships - pushy salesmen, salesmen trying to steal sales, people talking down to me because I'm not a man... BUT Herzog Meier Volkswagen was opposite of any experience I have ever had. Polite, respectful, and NOT pushy. I appreciate also how I can go back anytime if I need anything or have questions about the car. It doesn't end after the papers are signed. It will be fun to get to know my Tiguan! More

Main problem were struts that we’re not certified and damaged and ABS sensors that were glued on! I would advise that that you not spend your hard earned money at this dealer. Two weeks later still have not been contacted with anyone from this business regarding these serious mechanical problems. More

After driving the Mazda he gave us a quote with aggressive discounts but then would not let us take the quote with us.. said "this is confidential". He then put all the numbers - MSRP, discounts, net cost etc on the back of his visiting card. We should have realized it right away that there was something fishy here. Anyway, we came back very next day and expressed desire to close the deal only to be be told that he had made a mistake on pricing and the correct price is $7K more. He wasn't even sorry and had no shame..probably plays the same trick several times a day. Anyway, don't be fooled by their games..its the only Mazda dealership in the Portland area that marks up MSRP. We visited all and no other dealership fulls up the MSRP. Very unethical dealership. Would not recommend at all. More
