The actual buying experience went smoothly. However, we traded my car in on this purchase on 3/14 and I just called my previous lender today, on 3/31, to confirm payoff. The loan balance was not paid off w traded my car in on this purchase on 3/14 and I just called my previous lender today, on 3/31, to confirm payoff. The loan balance was not paid off within the 10 days and is now showing past due. Update, it's 4/2, still not paid off and they're well past the 10 day payoff that was requested. Nielson at the Orlando location still says the bank should have the check tomorrow. Update, 4/3, bank still hasn't received payment, payoff is now $150 more than when requested. We ended up just paying it off over the phone. Called Hertz and now Nielson says that the electronic payment wasn't sent to the bank until 4/1, so they didn't pay until we called asking about it. He argued with my husband that this is business as usual with them. So, takenote, don't bother with them. More
Very Good Experience I had been to 4 or 5 different dealerships prior to coming to Hertz and I was exhausted ready to give up and just forget about purchasing a new car. I I had been to 4 or 5 different dealerships prior to coming to Hertz and I was exhausted ready to give up and just forget about purchasing a new car. I was turned off by sales and the art of the deal. When I came to Hertz I had a very good experience and enjoyed working with my salesman. He was knowledgeable and very helpful, not pushy and down to earth. I would recommend friends and family to see Eric any time... More

Horrible. GM "wont put anythign in writing." Don't risk it. I would NEVER recommend anyone to buy a car from Hertz. I gave corporate more than a month to have the opportunity to return my call and no one did. T I would NEVER recommend anyone to buy a car from Hertz. I gave corporate more than a month to have the opportunity to return my call and no one did. There is no accountability what-so-ever if you encounter a problem with your recently purchased vehicle. I bought my Mazda 5 (and the gold extended warranty) and within 2 days the check engine light came on, I took the car back to the dealership and they had their "certified mechanics" look into the issue and told me it was an issue of "a loose fuel cap" and advised me not to fuel the car while it was running. They turned the check engine light off and released the car back to me and advised me to take the car to a mazda dealership with any future issues. Within 1 week the check engine light came on again. I took it to the Mazda dealership who told me there was a broken solenoid causing the light to come on. They provided a quote of $255 to have it repaired. I contacted Hertz asking them to pay for the repair and they told me "we cannot authorize this until we have 'our certified mechanics' look at the problem." So I paid mazda the $100 diagnostic fee, and took the car back to Hertz, along with the Mazda diagnostic paperwork- I asked them to have this thoroughly looked at as I've been driving my 18-month old baby around with a questionable vehicle. The General Manager, Garvin, who I was dealing with at this point gave me a song-and-dance story about how he's worked at dealerships before and has experienced them telling customers that problems exist and charging for them, when in fact no problem exists...I reiterated that there was something wrong with the car and I expected them to fix the problem. Once again, I was told that the "certified mechanics" determined that it was an issue with a "loose fuel" cap and to not fuel the car up while it was running (which I never do). They once again, turned off the check engine light. When the General Manager called me to tell me that his "certified mechanics couldn't find any issue with the car (other than the fuel cap) and that he provided them with a copy of the mazda diagnostic, that they also could not see any issues there" I asked him for something in writing stating that they found nothing wrong with the car other than the fuel cap. He told me "I will not put anything in writing, and your car is ready for pick up." Frustrated at this utter lack of customer service and care, I called the General Manager back on a recorded line, stating that he was on a recorded line, and asked him to tell me once more his findings of my vehicle and that he would not put anything in writing. He told me that my telling him that "he was on a recorded line" was illegal. I asked for the number to his corporate office and he refused to provide that to me. I then picked up the car and of course, once again the check engine light is back on. I have called corporate on 4 separate occasions asking someone to return my call and no one has. This is the worst experience I have ever dealt with when it comes to not only customer satisfaction, but accountability in general!!! If you are looking to purchase a reliable car, DO NOT GO TO ANY HERTZ CAR DEALERSHIP! Feel free to reach out to me with further questions to legitimize this story or to hear a recorded copy of the call. More
2 different hertz dealer reviews The hertz dealer at Orlando SANFORD is AWEFUL. The GM is nasty rude and things he is a tuff guy, his worker is a liar and deceitful. They also lie abo The hertz dealer at Orlando SANFORD is AWEFUL. The GM is nasty rude and things he is a tuff guy, his worker is a liar and deceitful. They also lie about the prices. When u go there all of a sudden all these fees come out of know where. I've never had a manager be so nasty to me. The Hertz dealer in tampa was MUCH better BUT the finance manager Brian Bell is SLICK and was not honest with me about what he told me I was signing and I ended up getting some money of my down payment taken out. Next time I will NOT trust a finance guy at a dealer and take an hour reading all that paperwork. He told me he'd pay off my car in full but he used some of my down payment to do it and didn't say a word about it, just said OH i'm gonna pay it no worries. Rafael Pena was GREAT. If u go to this dealer, ask for Rafael Pena, he was good all around, but be careful with his slick deceiving finanace manager Bryan Bell. Jerry did good in lowering my Rate so cuddos to that manager. Read everyone piece of paper thoroughly before you sign Even though their website states *The listed price includes all costs except state and local taxes, tags, registration fees, and title fees." and SALE Even though their website states *The listed price includes all costs except state and local taxes, tags, registration fees, and title fees." and SALE PRICE INCLUDES THE DEALER FEE!!!***** guess what...they charged an additional $379.00 for "profit to the dealer for items such as inspecting, cleaning, and and adjusting vehicles" I had asked twice to see the numbers on the car and was told by Eric "Tony will go over those with you" Tony only disclosed the price of the car, tax and tag fees. As for this $379.00 the car was not detailed inside or out. As far as inspecting it I took it to a Firestone the next day (due to a low tire pressure warning) and the air filter and cabin filter were filthy and had to be replaced and the tag light was out. Total bill $100. Also had to put new windshield wipers because it began raining on the way home from the dealership and you couldn't see anything out of the windshield! I spoke to their manager, Anthony, to discuss all these problems the day after I got the car. He basically said "Sorry". These cars are not CPO...don't let them fool you. Read every line very carefully! I'm very sorry I bought from them!! More
