DO NOT USE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. CORRUPT. SCAMMERS AND NASTY. I purchased my 2017 Infiniti qx60 from Herrin Gear. For the most part it is a reliable car. Unfortunately, if you CORRUPT. SCAMMERS AND NASTY. I purchased my 2017 Infiniti qx60 from Herrin Gear. For the most part it is a reliable car. Unfortunately, if you do need a repair you cannot use Herrin Gear. I have taken my car there several times for repairs and I have been overcharged or outright scammed. This last repair - allegedly a thermostat replacement cost over $900.00. I was charged $176 for a part listed on their own website for $34 dollars. Further, the repair was not properly performed. I reached out to the service consultant, Quency, twice regarding my car leaking green fluid. He did not return the call. I then reached out to the Service Manager, Peter Akinawale, regarding the car leak. He also did not return the call. As my concern grew, I broke down and took my car to Patty Peck Honda which has serviced my son's car. I was charged $241 for a diagnosis and coolant. PP Honda recommended the same repair that had supposedly been performed at Herrin Gear over a month ago. I was also told that because the repair was not done properly, my compressor was soaked in coolant and would need to be repaired. PP Honda's estimate for to correct the repair done by Infiniti was $2600.00. I called Infiniti and it took no less than 3 calls to get someone on the phone. I shared all of the above with Mr. A and asked if I should allow PP to perform the repairs, pay for it and then submit the bill to them or if they would perform the repair. Mr. A stated that the repair was still under warranty because it is 12K miles or 1 year - whichever comes first. He assured me that the repairs would be made and even said no worries. At this point I had the headache of getting the car to them to make the repairs. When I got there, I parked my car behind several other cars waiting for repairs and asked for Mr. A, as we had agreed I would do. I was told he was in a meeting. I was then asked who was my service consultant and a chorus of oh nos went up. Eventually, I was escorted back to see Jerry JOnes and I shared all of the above with him. He wrote up the issue, but not before he asked me to pull my own car around to the service area closer to him. I did as he requested, but noted that other service consultants were going out to get their customer's cars. I returned to the office, where he told me that the work was under warranty and that he would call me in the am the next day. I did not hear from him and when I contacted him he made no mention of what the diagnosis was or what repairs were being done. He assured me th the car would be ready and would be brought to my home that pm. At 4,30 p.m Jerry calls and tells me that the car is not ready because it needs a screw to hold the washer container in the correct place and it is going to take 2 days to get that done. I asked for a loaner. He hung up and called me back and said lo and behold my car was ready that the found the part on another car....flabbergasted. I then asked what repairs were made. He told me the thermostat. I asked about the compressor he said no just the thermostat and I said well what happened to what Mr. A said. I that point I became very angry because it was clear that again there was an attempt to palm a shoddy job off on me. And how do you need two days to repair a car and then 40 minutes later it is repaired? That did not sound right. I asked to speak to Mr. A. about the situation and got no further. I was told that compressors have water splash on them all the time to which i responded not doubt but there are not designed for coolant to cover them. Further no one had assured me that the problem was fixed - why the car was leaking , why i had no coolant in the car and that none of the other systems were impacted by their previous shoddy job. I told them in no uncertain terms that I had no confidence in their work and felt that with the replacement of the thermostat or gasket that the car was being pushed back on me for a serious More
