Started great but still working through the final details! I found my used car online and the initial communication was immediate and excellent. We finally worked through a deal (mostly via text messages) and they even offered to drive the car 5 hours to me on a Saturday while still having the option to back out. I ended up buying it that day, and have been very happy with it since. There have even been a few follow up items with the salesperson on a few outstanding items. The paperwork was a different story. I was contacted by Herlong the day before my temporary tags expired and told that they were sending the paperwork overnight to my DMV, and I needed to visit the DMV the following day to finalize my tags and avoid penalty (I was in Texas at the time). After scrambling to do that, I found out that my tags could not be transferred from my old car (I am still not entirely clear why but according to the DMV it had to do with how the title was written/transferred), and now I had to pay a civil penalty for not carrying insurance on my old tags. Then 3 days before my payment was due and I still had not received paperwork from the lender, the dealer called to say that my paperwork had been stuck in Ohio due to the snow and that I needed to make my first payment over the phone. So what started out as a really great experience has left me a bit sour in the end. More

What I take away from Herlong is the fact that if they can't or won't be able to do something, they don't sugar coat and do what they can to make your purchase become the investment it is instead of just buying another vehicle. Meryl and Lacy also very much add to the incentive. Are approachable and very warming. they take the time to explain the process. Absolutely superb dealership. Cannot go wrong with anyone in there. Service Your service department needs a manager who has knowledge of common problems with Ford. Your manager Bobby had me wait 3 months before getting a loane Your service department needs a manager who has knowledge of common problems with Ford. Your manager Bobby had me wait 3 months before getting a loaner to us to fix a problem with truck since purchase. problem still not fixed a year later. My truck has been at your dealership more than in my possession in the last year because your mechanics are apparently not knowledable in their field . The Ford F-150 has a known problem with the IWE system which your service department refuses to address. Within a month of purchase I had to replace all 4 tires, break pads and rotors. That should never have happened when you spend $32000 on a vehicle . I spent $1500 on an extended warranty that no other Ford dealer in my area will accept . I would never recommend Herlong . More

Although we have not yet had the opportunity to work with their service department, I would expect the same outstanding experience. I think what sets Herlong Ford apart is their TEAM approach where all are committed to excellence and putting their customers first. This was clearly evident throughout the entire process--from the moment we walked in the door until we drove away in our new car. Definitely a first class operation. More
