Used truck purchase experience Be very careful when buying a used vehicle. They say that they rigorously inspect the vehicle but they don't. I drove 200 miles after going back and forth with the sales rep via email on a Toyota Tacoma and paid a non-refundable $500 deposit based on the sales rep's feedback. The vehicle had been on the lot for over 3 months, plenty of time to fix any issues. It was pulled and detailed and waiting for me when I arrived. When I got there and drove the car I discovered the alignment was way off as well as brake lights and fog lights broken. This is something a rigorous inspection would have found, even a quick one. I waited over 6 hours for the repairs, they had to take it to another shop. Everything but the fog lights was fixed and those lights are supposedly being drop-shipped to me. Aftermarket locks were put on the truck, I discovered this when I was 150 miles on the road back home when I stopped at a rest stop, took the keys and locked the door. The keys would not turn in the locks to unlock the door. I ended up having to break a window to get in I was told the service manager would get a hold of me with a solution. I have sent videos of the issue and, after over a week, still no response and no fog light. I hate writing this because the sales team was great, be careful on service team. I don't think you would have any issues with new vehicles with warranties. More
